well… today we drove to Narcisse to see the garter snake dens…

just to be clear… I am afraid of snakes, very afraid…

we spotted this crocus on the way in…

it was raining when we arrived and there were very few snakes and they weren’t moving much…

everyone touched and/or held one… the boys had great fun…

then I held one for just a couple of seconds… was rather proud of myself…

we were lucky to get a couple of shots with the tongue out…

eventually the rain stopped and the snakes appeared to materialize out of nowhere and were writhing all over each other…

when we got home – without any snakes, although many in the vehicle thought we should bring one home – Jeff caught the fish and took them out to the pond…

I hope they are not frozen out there…
