on the walk to the hairdresser I took a few pictures of flowers and plants along the lane…
looks a lot better than my weed filled area, lol…
got the haircut and walked back home…
then lazed around the house and garden for the rest of the day🙂…

I’ve been enjoying the roses around the house…
they remind me of my dear friend and former neighbour, Ellen…
from the time the girls were born, she and her husband looked after them whenever we needed help…
whatever time we were having dinner she would take them next door so we could actually eat without interruption, lol…
we used to have them over for dinner on Wednesday nights and she would babysit while we went bowling… that was a very long time ago…
now I have one of her rose bushes in the front flowerbed and think of her often…
especially when I bring the beautiful roses into the house😊…

had a quiet day… only outside for a little while as it was overcast and spit a fair bit…
but did get some reading in… also got to see more morning glories on the deck…
also ones that I planted on the new trellis, and flowers on more of the cucumbers there;-)… so far the morning glories have all been purple 😂…
and I spotted a number of bachelor buttons in the side garden…
and the biggest surprise was the cute little sweet pea flower, next to an actual peapod, woohoo…
things are moving along😊…

so, the other day my adventure buddy brought me some beautiful peonies and they looked and smelled delicious…
what I didn’t know about peonies is that they guzzle water like crazy and just possibly they ran out of water…
I added more water when I realized what had happened, but most of them didn’t perk up…
eventually, I tossed out the very dead ones and cut back the few remaining…
and I also put some of the dead ones into a small vase to put in the den because they still smelled delicious…
a few buds went into a small container and they have opened;-)…

had fun finding a few columbine plants with flowers that the bunnies haven’t discovered yet…
they are both in the raised pond bed and kind of hidden;-)…
they should be fine, even if discovered, as the bunnies seem to prefer the leaves, not the flowers;-)…

on my walk from the car to The Leaf, I loved the yellow carpet over many of the fields…
and came upon a painted turtle…
it was very far from any water, and once it spotted me, it turned and headed towards the field…
a great surprise to start my shift;-)…

got a parcel in the mail from my daughter in Ottawa…
it contained eight packets of a variety of morning glory seeds and an adorable tea towel covered in flowers…
a wonderful treat, and it means I can plant morning glories everywhere 🤪…

the other day I picked up a hanging basket that was “free” because we spent a zillion dollars on groceries, lol…
the plan is to use it in the front planter beside the door as it had lots of plants and flowers flowing down the sides…
brought it out of the garage today to get a bit of sun because it still isn’t warm enough for it to go into the pot, lol…
while it was sitting out, a lovely big bumblebee stopped by for some pollen…
it buzzed around the various flowers for quite a few minutes before heading off to find other treats…
what a great start to the day…
