a few days ago I booked my fourth visit to Fleurs de Villes at The Leaf in January;-)…
it is always wonderful to see and I have given a number of friends tickets to go (with me of course)…
seems like a perfect Christmas gift for anyone who appreciates art, flowers, nature, and creativity… especially after looking out the window and seeing this, lol…

I’ve been enjoying my Advent calendars for these past eighteen days…
the boxes for the one have been on the stairs with a few elsewhere when all 24 wouldn’t fit…
as they’ve been opened I’ve rearranged them until now there aren’t any on some of the steps…
they have been filled with items from paper clips, a label maker, seeds, purple and handmade items, as well as a favourite chocolate bar ;-)…
the ones on the wall are turned once opened and I’ve enjoyed all the treats in them as well… from a variety of nuts to a few with chocolate in them;-)…
these are the hands that have filled all of them, some with instructions from far away, lol…

went to our last aquasize for the year on Tuesday…
the weather was warm, which always makes going out more fun;-)…
it is always a great time, even if we are worn out at the end of the class, lol…
we’ve had to miss a few times due to other activities, and we are going to change to Thursdays in the new year which means we shouldn’t miss any…
being there every week will also provide some continuity and keep us more fit…

last week I received my first (and possibly only) Christmas card…
made me think of the cards I’ve received over the years… as it happens we sent very few cards, lol…
I am always so impressed with those who take the time to write cards and/or letters…
what a treat when one turns up;-)…

I’ve been watching the amaryllis that I purchased in early November…
it is now in the sleigh with some of the snow people and it seems to be doing okay… I added some of the solar lights in and around the melt (group of snow people)… I kind of like it…
both of the little babies on the sides of the main bulb have started to shoot up, and even the original bulb is starting to have a bit of green peek out…

Facebook reminded me that yesterday commemorated my last day of work six years ago… it was a special and fun day…
I spent the day saying farewell to my colleagues and had lunch out with a former colleague…
surprising to think that so much time has passed… and how much I have enjoyed these past years of retirement;-)…

it was very cold this morning 🥶…
it looked beautiful outside with everything covered in fresh snow…
I waited until around 10 to go out and blow the snow off the front steps and sidewalk so that it would be clear for the mail carrier…
today, I did not clear a path through the grass to the neighbours’ house… it was too cold;-(…
the sun was shining, but the wind kept blowing the snow back up at me, covering my leggings, my jacket, and my boots…
I was happy that I’d left my glasses in the house as my face also received a lot of blowing snow on it, lol…
I do believe that winter has arrived… even if it isn’t December 21st… feels like the sundogs are showing it;-)…

so happy that my volunteer shift went until six…
got to see the new display when it was completely dark outside…
and the new hanging lights add such a delightful effect…
it is beautiful in the day, but if you have the opportunity to see it at night as well, go for it…

got up early Saturday morning to watch the final F1 Qualifying of the season…
there is great excitement as these three were all in the hunt for the Driver Championship…
up a few minutes before to get a pot of tea ready, and then snuggled back into bed to watch the action…
watching live is much more fun than the PVRed version, although I do tape them to be sure to be able to see them if anything comes up and I miss the live show…
