saw the most interesting seeds on the ground as I was walking home tonight…

I think they were seeds… looking up the street portions of the sidewalk were green and I couldn’t figure out why…

when I got to those spots the cement was covered in what looked like tiny green leaves… I’ve never seen this before…

clearly it had to do with a particular type of tree, not sure what kind… did a little research but no particular tree jumped out at me…

I did read something about a response to stress causing a huge drop of seeds;-(…

this morning I walked around the garden to get a few photos of the daisies that had opened overnight…

and I discovered this wasp (I think)… it was sitting on the daisy and not moving… I took a number of photos and then started to wonder if it was alive

as I took the last two photos I could see it breathing, so was really happy…

I am rather pleased with this photo because it has not been altered at all;-)…

it has been over seven years since my beloved left us…

I still have difficult days… they often come in clusters and I’m in the midst of one right now…

today, when I was grocery shopping, orchids were on sale… so as a lovely reminder of my beloved I picked up two…

two purple orchids on living room coffee tableorchids

they do make me smile when I think of all the ones he brought home for me over the years

he would have enjoyed the orchid farm on Maui…

I miss him so much…

yesterday I was enjoying the poppies in the English Garden… they were huge

reminded me of some others I’ve seen recently…

… one of the blossoms as it was opening in our garden…

… a photo that my daughter sent me from Ottawa as she was taking a walk…

… the giant poppies at the Park…

… then there is the postcard I received in the mail…

… and finally, a shot of the sunlight shining on one of only four blooms this year…

my beloved and I have always loved poppies and seeing them makes me remember him and fun times in the garden…

today I had an eye appointment… good news is that my eyes are looking great… not so good news is that I probably need to consider new glasses… had to wait for a while to see my eye doctor…

spent a few minutes waiting by Sargent Sundae…

then met a friend and we went for lunch at the Park CafĂ© and a walk around the English Garden… it was overcast and a bit windy, but it was nice to be outdoors…

one of my favourite photos from our time in the Garden… I’m always looking for flowers and frogs in the ponds, lol…

I can’t think of a week that I’ve eaten out more

Monday was an amazing catered dinner at the office…

Tuesday was lunch out with a good friend…

Wednesday, it was breakfast out, followed by pizza brought in for lunch

today, had delicious homemade muffins and scones, wth fruit and cheese for breakfast, and went for lunch at Smith…

don’t have any plans for tomorrow, lol… how sad is that…

early this morning watered all the plants in the garden with a bucket… it meant that I got lots of steps in and did a bit of weight training, lol…

summer is nearly upon us…

so enjoy the time to wander around the space and enjoy the beauty…

morning is my best time… by the end of the day I am often just interested in vegging out in front of the tv…

had the most delicious dinner last night…

started with a salad of compressed melon, whipped goat cheese and apple compote, mint, red wine vinaigrette, dill salt, local pea shoots… it was yummy…

and then we had a wonderful chicken breast that was so moist… lemon brined chicken, rhubarb and brown butter sauce, crispy quinoa, beets, Swiss chard…

ended the meal with strawberry shortcake, with a purple flower on it… sugar scone, macerated strawberries, coconut whipped cream, hibiscus and ginger syrup… oh my…

Lyndsay, from Modern Plate Catering, did a magnificent job… she arrived with a chef and a server… they looked after everything

the menu descriptions above come directly from her;-)…

what a wonderful treat…

already dreaming about the next time

I was scrolling through facebook the other day and came across some tips

the absolute best one was about closing tabs when on the internet, thanks to diply.com

we’ve been on a quest at work to find ways to save time and I’d found a great one about closing all open Excel files at once… then I found the one that lets you close all open emails in Outlook

this one is even better, because I often have many internet tabs open, particularly on my phone…

I just tried it now and there were eighty open… see how handy this is going to be for me!!

on the bottom right of your screen you see the icon that looks like a couple of pages… hold it down and it will offer options… one of which is close all tabs

it also appears to work on androids, maybe at the top of the screen…

I love technology;-)…

this morning I had a cup of my favourite tea with a bowl of red curry lentils and rice… not my usual breakfast…

yesterday I made the curry as a gift, and kept a tiny portion for me… and apparently was craving it…

we had ribs and potato salad for supper… delicious… always love the first potato salad of the year;-)…

so happy about the tea… great to have a full box… it makes it even more special and I enjoyed every sip…

also got the waterfall running, and the fish are in the pond…

my grandson and I are planning to pick up some new goldfish in the next few weeks as we are down to three… it will be nice to have a small school, lol… hopefully the big ones won’t eat the new little ones…
