well, this is funny… I planted morning glories everywhere around the garden…
Sunday evening I spotted a blossom on one of the volunteer plants that had grown in the planters around the deck…
this is the first one to show up🤣…

I use my immersion blender all the time, particularly when I make smoothies… I have had it for a very long time…
I’ve noticed recently that the blades seem dull and when it finishes, there are still bits of whatever is being blended left…
a few years ago I purchased a new immersion blender, because the old one was making rather odd noises… but it continued working so I put the new one on the shelf…
recently, I dug it out of its box and the cute measuring cup that came with it…
then, sadly, I disposed of the old one…
now I have to see how well I like the way it works🤔…

last year we moved the little lilac bush from the garden to the front yard…
it just didn’t seem happy in the spot we had it and for the last couple of years it hadn’t produced any flowers at all…
the hope was that it would like the extra sun it would get out front…
not too long after it arrived in its new spot we built an inukshuk beside it with a collection of limestone pieces that we had…
this spring it didn’t look as though it had survived and then, all of a sudden, it sprang up…
and, just this morning, I spotted at least four little bunches of buds… can’t wait for them to open…
so exciting;-)…

last week I bought a lovely scarf at The Leaf…
today, while I was working my shift at the Mediterranean Biome exit spot, I watched a woman unfold a purple t-shirt in the Gift shop which is just outside the exit and perfectly in my view, lol…
so at the end of my day, I went and found one for me…
it is lovely and I know I will enjoy wearing it this summer;-)…
I may have to stop looking through those doors, lol…
a bit later, after I got home, a friend stopped by with a delicious piece of cake… we’d talked earlier in the week about this exact dessert… a lovely treat and visit…
I did share it with my housemate;-)…
pretty fine day…

just after I took this photo of a beautiful allium, a visitor asked me what it was…
then I had a lovely conversation with another visitor who was telling me about the allium that grew in her garden outside of the city… she said they grew six feet tall and took over the garden…
made me laugh as I shared how this was one of my beloved’s favourites and no matter what we did, they would not grow for us…
we ended the conversation noting that, in our experience, some plants will or won’t grow for certain people, lol…

today, while I was working an early shift at The Leaf, I spotted this beautiful hummingbird scarf, which I then had to buy;-)…
it is made out of plastic bottles and is sooo soft and lightweight…
one of the great things about the Gift Shop there is how often they change the products…
and, if you see something you want, you need to buy it right away, because it might not be there the next time you go, lol…

so, this orchid started budding in the den, in an east window…
and it was living in water…
many of the orchids in that room love being in water constantly, even though all the resources say not to do that, lol…
once the buds began to open, I moved it to the plant table in the west window of the living room…
today was watering day and after I gave it some water, I turned to another plant and knocked the orchid onto the floor… in the process I broke off the branch with all the new buds on it…
picked it up, put most of the bark back in it, sopped up the water, and vacuumed everything up…
then I put the branch in a small vase and am hoping for the best…
not how I planned watering day to go, sigh…

decided that the first treat of my birthday week was a pedicure at Total Wrapture…
I’ve been going there for many years, but haven’t been for months…
when I arrived, I was handed a gift card… my daughter had called and paid for my pedicure…
what a lovely surprise…
Julia did a wonderful job… she was very gentle and her foot and leg massage was excellent… I also had a paraffin wax treatment before the colour was put on;-)…
and guess what colour I chose, lol…

my phone case was starting to show its age, so I spent time researching what was out there to replace it…
having the spot where cards and a bit of money fit makes it easy for me just to take the phone and not need a purse…
took quite a while, but eventually I found two that I thought might work…
ordered both and discovered, for now, that the smaller one will work perfectly;-)…
the best thing is that it doesn’t have a zipper, like my last one, where the pull tab kept finding its way into my photos, lol… and it is very slim…
the part that makes me giggle is that it is harder to tell the top from the bottom when I take it out of my pocket…

this morning I had an appointment with my doctor for my regular blood pressure check-up, as well as hearing my A1C results…
as we went into the exam room he mentioned to his staff person that I always wear purple, lol…
he started out asking if I had been to Fleurs de Villes and we chatted about that for a few minutes… I wondered why he had asked and finally realized I was wearing one of my Fleurs de Villes t-shirts, lol…
he had to take my blood pressure a few times to get a good reading… I mentioned that my housemate was waiting for me and I was worried he wouldn’t get to work on time, lol…
my A1C had gone down and has been trending downward which made me happy as I feel I am eating in a more normal fashion… he was pleased with that…
we also discussed that those numbers could go as high as 8.1 before it would be a problem as I age… of course, neither one of us plan to let that happen…
on the way home we picked up a favourite breakfast as a treat;-)…
way to go me😊…
