customer service…

I wrote this post for work and thought I would share it with you…

Made me think of the service we received tonight at Lobby on York where the staff went out of their way to make the group dinner experience enjoyable for everyone who attended…

salmon with mashed potatoes and a lovely mustard sauce...

salmon with mashed potatoes and a lovely chipotle marinade…

they knew me by name when I arrived, and that I was the organizer… they took the list of what individuals had ordered and asked everyone’s name so they could provide the correct meal for the correct person…  it was another good customer service experience…  I am looking forward to doing something with them again…

that same kind of attention to detail happened on the Rhapsody of the Seas Cruise Ship… if you mentioned a problem with a meal or service, within minutes someone up the food chain would be at your table to hear the problem and then deal with it…  I had wanted a tour of the galley and was told there wasn’t any space left, but after mentioning it to one of the dinner service staff, it was all organized and a cookbook produced by the chefs was autographed and presented to me the next night when we arrived for our dinner…

really, it’s all about going the extra mile…

busy day…

went to the Farmers Market just after 9 and then to a number of grocery stores… I found two new phone cases…

returned home, had a nap and cleaned crabs for our supper, and headed out to see the Dahlia man where I got 11 tubers for the garden, mostly purple but some white ones… picked up crab to bring home and a few last minute treats…

when we got home we cooked prawns and had crab, asparagus, salad and wine…

currently we are working on our Alaska cruise book online…

then to bed so I can get up early and pack everything I bought into a second suitcase for my flight home…

had a marvelous sleep which is quite amazing as I don’t usually sleep well the first night in a strange place… but the rocking was very relaxing… this morning we didn’t want to get up as there was a breeze that gently rocked us back and forth, back and forth…

the pond outside of Melody...

the pond outside of Melody…

finally we got up, packed, took the last few pictures and headed to Tigh-na-mara for some spa time…  no pictures were taken inside, but we had a fantastic time… spent time in the mineral pool, had body wraps, and massages and ate tapas in a gorgeous setting…  what a blissful day…

entrance to the spa...

entrance to the spa…

into the car and along the Old Island Highway, where we saw great views and stopped at Fanny Bay Oysters to pick up some crab and prawns… home for a nap…

now to bed after getting all my pictures onto Ron’s computer…

tomorrow is my last full day here…

had a much better sleep and got up just after 7… we packed our bags, tidied the house and headed off…

arrived in Coombs and saw some goats on the roof… had a lovely lunch of crab linguini and Cyndi had salmon 5 or 6 ways… bought a few provisions for our night in Melody, one of the Free Spirit Spheres… and I bought a small Japanese Maple for the garden… my wonderful children will drive it across the country when they travel east later in the summer… I am sooo happy… it’s name is cascading waterfall and I will put it in the back corner by the pond and bring it into the house for the winter…

we drove on to Cathedral Grove to soak up the beauty… this is such an amazing sanctuary and I will miss coming here…

fries and tea in Qualicum Beach and stopped to pick up a bottle of wine…

found our way to the Spheres… they are quite lovely… birds are singing and I can hear Cyndi chatting with the person in the next sphere, but can’t see them or the sphere… there was a lovely basket of treats waiting for us and kind hosts… took some pictures and am sitting looking across the pond… how could I not love such a place:-)…
