was noticeably darker this morning when I got up…
only this one morning glory bloomimg…
once I got out of the driveway, I stopped to take this picture of the trees down the street…
you can see a few leaves under it… I was happy with how the flag was waving too…
when I turned onto the street tonight I stopped once again and got this picture…
tons of leaves dropped throughout the day… apparently it is Fall…

on my way home Friday night I really noticed the changing colour of the leaves…
this picture shows the Virginia creeper in the garden… more and more red…
I’ve also noticed leaves coming down everywhere… besides yellow ones drifting down in the garden, I’ve noticed piles where they have dropped en masse under some trees…
the trees across the creek are looking beautiful as fall advances…
George and I used to take a drive on a Sunday in the fall to see the beautiful colours along the highway…
I don’t remember dreams, but lately I’ve been dreaming about him… woke up a few days ago thinking he was downstairs making breakfast… took a few minutes for my new reality to sink in…
more colours looking out the windows… feels as though fall is hurtling towards us…

this afternoon Jeff, the boys, and I cleaned up the back yard…
although it had been raked a while ago, there were tons of leaves… we don’t actually have any trees that drop leaves in the yard, but the neighbourhood elms do love to share their bounty with us at the end of the season…

the little boys mainly helped by jumping into the pile of leaves… I was amazed at how patient their daddy was as they leaped and tossed and cavorted among the raked leaves… then, of course, they had to be raked up again…

while they worked on that, I dumped out pots, dug up dahlias and bundled pots into the shed… planters went under the deck and the umbrella was put away to wait for the spring…
one left… had to move fast to get pictures…
Jeff spent a fair bit of time working on the pond… getting leaves out of it with the net and then vacuuming around the edges to clean it up… he tried to find a way to remove the pump completely, but the cord is stuck under some rocks and we didn’t want to disturb them…

the yard looks great, all ready for the cold weather and snow that will be coming… today it was 10 Celsius as we were working, which was pretty warm… usually we have snow on Halloween so we are doing very well…
somewhere I have a great picture of George and Kyler raking leaves in the front yard… couldn’t find it tonight, though…
after all that hard work we had a lovely dinner together…

this afternoon I got to leave work a little early and decided to stop at Dairy Queen for an ice cream cone… George and I would stop occasionally on our way home if he picked me up… I don’t think I’ve been to this particular store since he died… they have done a complete overhaul and besides looking very nice inside, they now have a drive-thru – for ice cream, I can’t believe it…

we would sit in the car in the parking lot and talk about our day and the kids… I sat there for a few minutes in my new car thinking about how much fun we got to have together… no tears, just happy memories…

when I got home I sat in the living room and talked with Crystal on the phone for a few minutes while looking out the window… it was overcast and the wind was picking up, but the leaves across the creek were very lovely with many shades of green and yellow…

got closer to the window and got a shot of my neighbour’s tree and some beautiful leaves on a little waif close to their house…
stunning elm to the left…
went onto the deck and got a few lovely shots of the elm in the other neighbour’s yard… what leaves are on it are a gorgeous shade of yellow and as I took the pictures, leaves were flying through the sky like rain…
not long after that the rain started and apparently will continue through most of tomorrow…

spent some time watching a family of purple finches as they stocked up on food before their flight to warmer climes… they are not nearly as bright as in the spring and early summer…

that same day I took some pictures of the leaves as the colours change… every day as I drive to and from work I see less leaves on the trees and more on the ground…

also got a shot of a yard down the street that was filled with leaves…

the elm trees haven’t shed yet, but soon when the boys come over they can do some raking and playing… it will remind them of doing that very thing with Grandpa I am sure…

colours have been changing and leaves have been falling…
took this picture from the bedroom this morning…
while I was out and about running errands today I saw many absolutely stunning views…
always amazing how in just a few days the majority of leaves can drop…
think Fall might really be here, lol…
