excellent day…

met my grandson for lunch and had a good visit… we ran an errand before he headed back to the bus and home…

the sky was amazing as we left the office at the end of the night… sun through the clouds was lovely…

as I was driving home the sun was setting and it was beautiful…

got this shot while I was on the phone with my daughter…

  

the yellows and oranges were quite stunning…

pinks were lovely… 

always amazes me how in just a few seconds the sky can change from beautiful shades to black…

this morning I took a picture of the hibiscus… it was glorious…

been thinking about healthcare recently… various people I know are dealing with issues…

I think back to all the appointments we had with doctors and surgeons about my hernia repair, and how all that red tape and slowness meant that I only needed one operation to deal with the hernia and cancer… how miraculous was that, lol…

getting on the good side of the support staff seems to be so important… whether it is the receptionist at the doctor’s office or the staff at the nursing station… these are the people who can move the process forward…

when George was in heart failure and the appointment with the cardiologist was weeks away, I had a great conversation with one of his staff and shared how ill George was… when a cancellation came up a day later we got in to see the doctor and I believe that saved his life and gave us another six years together…

tonight the five blooms had reduced to two… still beautiful, but quite the change from earlier in the day…

I think the hibiscus is in just the right place in the living room… must be getting the correct dose of sunlight…

there were at least thirteen buds this morning… looks amazing considering it probably only has twenty or thirty leaves on it…

enjoyed a very short walk getting home… crisp but lovely…

a great day filled with sunshine… haven’t had a lot of it lately so really appreciated it… happy to be able to take the time to enjoy the moment…

this morning the sky was absolutely beautiful… took many pictures on the way to work… it was mesmerizing…

a bit later in the morning I ran across the street to pick up some milk and cream for our coffee… as I was walking back I was compelled to take a picture of Emptyful… could see some great reflections in the new police building…

look up, look out…

that was today’s motto as I took a drive to Carberry with my friend…

weather was perfect and there was lots of conversation and snacking going on…

IMG_9150.JPGfinally enjoyed these beautiful pink tinged clouds… just before the dark took over the sky… last night we changed from Central Daylight to Central Standard time so it got dark an hour earlier than the night before… of course it is lighter when we get up…

finally home after a busy and fun weekend with the kids in the States…

we got up around nine this morning and after breakfast went for the last visit to the water park… it is lovely to watch how the boys spend time together as well as separately in the water…

then we packed up all of our stuff and headed to Grand Forks… visited three or four stores… had tacos for lunch and a very lovely dinner at a great steak house the kids had been to before… final few items picked up, and we were on the road home…

happily we breezed through the border and drove past the wind mills (turbines) as the sun was setting… sadly the car windows were covered in bugs again, but I was able to get a few good shots…

started the day early with the sun rising as I headed out to the first event of the day…

was talking with someone about all the learning that took place following George’s death and how it felt important to share some of those with others who may be going through a similar experience… heard very familiar examples of struggles that others have gone through…

learned some great ways to speak up this morning, and this evening was amazed at the bravery and strength of women entrepreneurs…

have really been noticing the additional light each day recently…

today the sun rose at 7:55 am and set at 5:29 pm for a total of 9 hours and 33 minutes of light… a month ago, on January 4th it rose at 8:25 am and set at 4:41 pm for a total of 8 hours and 16 minutes… every day an additional three or four minutes are added on, which doesn’t sound like much, but it sure makes a difference…

amazing what an hour and seventeen minutes can do for a person… nearly everyone I have talked with recently has noticed it… and the fact that we are all feeling better and happier…

the temperature has also risen a bit and we are enjoying more sunshine… walked over to the library yesterday and took a picture of the maze that was built by volunteers over the weekend… it is very cute…

tonight on our way home from work the sun was shining into the car and I was basking in it… we also saw a very nice sundog…

I am also doing a better job of dinner, which I think might also be related to the light… I feel as though I have the energy to cook something instead of relying on frozen things from the freezer or something that doesn’t involved any prep…

last night I got dropped off at the end of the street and walked the rest of the way… it was gorgeous and I was happy to spend a few minutes in the fresh air…

was thinking about the bunnies that I have been seeing lately and looked up to see one sitting in the road, right in front of the house…

I think they are very cute and enjoy having them on the street and in the garden… apparently I don’t plant anything that they think is yummy so I haven’t felt any desire to get rid of them…

I do have friends though who have a big problem with bunnies eating their vegetables and flowers…

but, for now, I just think they are cute…

as the light left the sky I stood still and watched the little fellow as it watched me… finally a car came down the street and away went the bunny…
