yesterday I got my 500th Like… pretty cool…

when I woke up my ear was completely blocked and it took quite a while to start to hear… went to the clinic by the office and after they cleaned out my ear (ugh), they decided I have an infection and now I have a prescription for drops for the next week… so, much as I hate liquid in my ears, guess I’ll be learning how to get the drops in… yuck…

this morning I took a few pictures of the trees down the street…

was noticeably darker this morning when I got up…

when I turned onto the street tonight I stopped once again and got this picture…

this is a strange cold… coughing comes and goes… my head feels like cotton and at night I feel like I still have my headset on… some days it seems like I’m improving and then it rears its cold head… lingered long enough…

forgot to turn my alarm on last night so I woke up half an hour late… still had to stop and check for morning glories, lol…

at the end of the day this hibiscus was smiling at me…

had a wonderful morning in the garden and down the street…

IMG_8358.JPGwas working a later shift, so spent a couple of hours in the sunshine… watched the morning glories open…

IMG_8366.JPGand this chickadee came to the feeder right beside me… very strange because usually they are quite nervous of anyone in the area…

as I walked back up the street spent some time with this gorgeous tree…

on my way home Friday night I really noticed the changing colour of the leaves…

this picture shows the Virginia creeper in the garden… more and more red…

IMG_8319.JPGI’ve also noticed leaves coming down everywhere… besides yellow ones drifting down in the garden, I’ve noticed piles where they have dropped en masse under some trees…

the trees across the creek are looking beautiful as fall advances…

I don’t remember dreams, but lately I’ve been dreaming about him… woke up a few days ago thinking he was downstairs making breakfast… took a few minutes for my new reality to sink in…

on my way to work this morning I took a few pictures of the lovely cloud formations…

IMG_8286.JPGluckily had to stop at a few lights so I was able to get good pics… often when I see something, the traffic flows so smoothly that I don’t have the needed opportunity…

there were no morning glories at home, but when I arrived at the office a colleague had picked a beautiful one from her garden and brought it in…

IMG_8287.JPGgot a shot of a bendy bus as I was sitting through five lights at Portage Avenue… knew that we had a couple here, but hadn’t seen any:-)…

IMG_8288.JPGit was just before five and the traffic was absolutely crazy… had been overcast all day and started to pour just as I turned onto Portage and it rained all the way home…

noticing every day how there is less light… waking up in the dark and needing to turn on the lights to get ready…

the sun is setting around eight so it is dark before you know it… less than thirteen hours of light each day…

the garden is struggling as well, what with the low temperatures… I check as soon as I get outside to see if any morning glories have braved the weather and bloomed…

IMG_8256.JPGI can’t see a morning glory without thinking of George counting how many were blooming each morning when I was in hospital for a six week period, and often bringing me a picture… sure do miss him…

IMG_8257.JPGhard to see, but this is a picture of some geese flying over first thing… the sound of their honking makes it clear that Fall is coming, lol…

IMG_8258.JPGfresh tomato with my chicken, potatoes and roasted garlic tonight… love popping something into the oven and napping while it cooks…

this morning it was warmer out and the morning glories were trying to open…

IMG_8246.JPGas the day went on I felt less and less well… by the time I left the office my throat was very sore and I was coughing more…

I am still sick with this cold and decided to head right to bed…

IMG_8249.JPGphone seemed to ring off the hook, but eventually the calls stopped… made some orange and strawberry juice which usually makes me feel better…

really need to shake this…

too cold for the morning glories today… but it was beautiful when I left the office… sun was shining and it was around 20 Celsius… very nice after a week of rather chilly temperatures…

the tomatoes were looking rather sad, so I took them off the vine… certainly didn’t get as many as usual…

IMG_8239.JPGwas very happy to spend a couple of hours with my BS friends… it is always great to be together and we haven’t met for a while – I was away and then there were scheduling conflicts… these women have been my companions for over two decades… being with them provides comfort and balance in my life…
