been busy since I got up today…

started out with a lovely hot tub and watched geese fly right over me…

  

added pictures to the new frame and finally got it set up in the living room… still thinking I might want the 14″ one instead of this 10″ one so I haven’t hung it on the wall just yet…

then it was a cab downtown to meet my daughter and spend two hours at the Home and Garden show… might just have found someone to help me in the garden… also spoke with my pond guy and we have a plan to get it all finished as soon as they can work outside…

  

then we headed to Silver City to meet up with the little guys to see Home… ate half a bag of popcorn… can’t help myself where popcorn is involved…

stopped at Safeway to pick up a few ingredients for our supper and headed home to get it made as my son-in-law had to get to work…

cleaned up from supper and got the ingredients ready for tomorrow evening’s gathering… need to be ready as I will be working late…

luckily I am going in a bit later and have made a lunch date with my grandson who is on spring break…

might sleep in a bit in the morning because I am just a little tired, lol…

last night when the boys came by after going out for Halloween, Jeff put the new top on the stove…

IMG_9132.JPGof course there were no directions, but he figured it out and it now looks great and works perfectly…

they came over late this afternoon and he and the boys started catching the fish to bring them into their winter condo…

IMG_9130.JPGhe worked for an hour and a half… the boys lasted about twenty minutes, lol…

IMG_9131.JPGthe last few fish didn’t want to be caught, even though there was ice on the top of the pond, but he wasn’t giving up…

this morning as I was taking out the garbage and recycling to the lane, the pond sounded funny… walked over and realized the strange sound was the pump sucking air… couldn’t really see it because it was still very dark, but I unplugged it to be sure it didn’t burn out…

tonight I took a picture of the pond…

IMG_8966-1.JPGhard to tell how low the water is with all the leaves in it, but it is low… also got a shot of these flowers which just keep blooming…

hug those you care about… tell them you love them… take the time to do what you want to do…

every moment is precious… don’t waste a single one…

had a great sleep last night and as I was heading downstairs saw this lovely view outside…

IMG_8886.JPGthe leaves were a beautiful shade of yellow…

spent most of the day resting but I did work on some chicken soup…

this afternoon my pond guy came by and put in a new pump…

IMG_8888.JPGit looks good, so far… we’ve decided to take out the uv filter and try putting a skimmer in beside the pond to collect algae and other debris… the thought is that it will be outside of the pond where I can get to it easily… this likely won’t happen until the spring… the fish are still happy outside but soon they will need to come in to their winter condo…

while out there I got a few pictures of some flowers that are still hanging on.. sadly we’ve already had a few frosts…

seems like I’ve done a lot of waiting for the last while…

waited for my ear infection to go away… and to be finished with those drops, euwwwww…

waiting for the pond to be working properly… my pond guy replaced the pump with a smaller version as the manufacturer felt the uv filter was causing a problem and they needed a smaller pump… that was a week ago Saturday… last Wednesday I noticed that the water was barely running and on Thursday morning turned off the pump as there was barely a trickle… hoping my guy gets here before it freezes… looks like we will still be dealing with this in the spring…

IMG_8541.JPGwaiting to hear from the foundation people… I understood they were planning to do the work on my foundation the first week of October, so I am wondering when I will hear from them… particularly as the weather is getting colder every day… and there has even been a suggestion that we might be getting flurries…

waiting for the stove to have its new top and the fridge to be in the right space and have all the doors on, lol… think my boys will be coming by one evening this week to finish this up…

going to focus on these beautiful flowers instead of all that waiting stuff…

spent some time by the pond this morning… weather was beautiful and I hadn’t been in the garden for ages…

IMG_8543.JPGit was quiet as the pump has been out of the pond for over a week… took pictures of the fish which was a great opportunity as the water was still…

IMG_8539.JPGgot home, had a snack and then my daughter and I went for pedicures…

she helped me clean out the freezer and on our way to the garbage I realized that my pond guy had been and had the water running again and I was very happy…

was going to try to put the shoe storage units on the wall this morning, but I didn’t have any screws… a bit humorous because somewhere in the garage I expect there are hundreds of them…

then I moved to organizing a drawer and in the process had to destroy some items of my beloved’s… still amazingly difficult…

I went to the grocery store to pick up a few items and when I got home discovered that the pond was nearly out of water… turned it off and filled it up again…

listened to geese flying over as I was filling the pond… I do love that sound…

the moon is gorgeous tonight…

this morning it was misting outside but I had to take pictures of the morning glories…

IMG_7390.JPGwhenever I look at them I remember how George would bring me pictures and tell me how many were blooming as I spent weeks in the hospital a few years back…

the pond is nearly overflowing…

IMG_7391.JPGwe’ve had two huge rains this week and rather than being low on water, it is bursting its seams…

before I left home I had to move and dump the barrel liner… It was full again this morning… certainly a good workout to pull it across the driveway and then tip it over…

and smell the roses, or in this case, the flowers…

IMG_7241.JPGI was rushing off to work but had to stop in the garden and get a few shots of these blossoms…

IMG_7246.JPGif you remember last time when I came home at the end of the day the flower had fallen off… wasn’t sure if it was the wind…

IMG_7251.JPGbut, tonight, when I got into the garden the blossoms were both on the ground… possibly another one-day only flowering plant… must see if I can figure out the name of it…

there is another blossom which will hopefully open on the weekend and I can spend some time by the pond enjoying it…

checked the pond this morning and some of the string algae is gone…

sadly, the plants that got the powder on them are covered with big black marks… think the powder burned them…. good news is that the fish are all fine…

20140802-192959-70199721.jpgoutside for a while this morning, came in, and have been watching a Criminal Minds marathon ever since…

had tiny new potatoes, beans, and peas along with a brie and apple stuffed chicken for my dinner…

20140802-193036-70236896.jpgtested the old full size freezer this afternoon to make sure it would still run… I’ve been trying to get rid of it for a couple of years but haven’t been able to find anyone to come and take out the freon and then cut it up… when we redid the basement we knew it wouldn’t come out in one piece, lol… I contacted Hydro last week to have them come and remove an old fridge and asked for a referral at which time they advised that they could do it, as long as the freezer still worked…

I am very happy as this will make space to store things I still want to keep and hopefully em>encourage me to do some more decluttering…
