had a wonderful evening with my ReImagining group…
so excited when I got home…
my son-in-law had gone and picked up my new treadmill, brought it home and set it up in the basement for me…
spent the next fifteen minutes walking on it in my bare feet to test it out…
the house phone sits on it very nicely and my cell phone, tablet and Kobo are all going to fit well also…
looking forward to reading up on it and giving it a good test walk tomorrow, lol…

spent the majority of the day at home…
did some laundry and brought in a couple of plants from the garden… saw the pictures from our photo shoot a while back… they came out very nice…
spent some time in the kitchen… made chicken soup and home-made macaroni and cheese… put together a spinach salad and picked up chocolate haystacks and raspberries…
had a nap and finished my preparations for dinner…
texted with my daughter in Ottawa who is sick with the flu… my home-made macaroni and cheese is one of her favourite meals when she is here… she was a bit sad, although she really isn’t eating…
I might have made a bit more than we needed for our dinner tonight…
it was lovely to have the day off so that I was well rested and enjoyed getting ready for our ReImagining gathering… because we meet in Mondays, I am often rushed after work…
great to spend time together and learn at the same time…

this morning the sky was overcast and I had to turn on lights… when I arrived at the office it was very misty from Empty Full…
was expecting a call around 11:30 but it came at 8:45 so I had to rush home and let the people in who were coming to extract the freezer… I had expected they would be removing the freon and then cutting it into pieces to get it out of the basement… amazingly they were able to take off the lid and the door and get it through the doorway and up the stairs…
and then they agreed to take the fridge which was to be picked up on Thursday… I was so happy to have it all done at once as I have many other things to get done this week…
there was a huge rainstorm this afternoon which filled up a large container that had been empty this morning… some water in the basement but not bad…
had a wonderful evening with my ReImagining friends… great meal and conversation…
hoping tomorrow will be brighter…

after work I was picked up and went to meet with my Reimagining friends…
we had a lovely dinner of chili and left-over salad and delicious butter pecan tarts…
our program consisted of some readings from Celtic Devotional by Caitlin Matthews who has a wonderful way with words… we read bits and pieces about Beltane (the season of summer) and talked about the natural world around us and taking the moments to see and hear what is going on around us…
wonderful opportunity to stop, and feel the joy of friendship…
arrived home in time to take a few pictures in the garden… the first is of the poppies that bloomed today… they are a bit worse for wear this evening, but quite a few were blooming…

my pansies are very happy…

usually, when I wake up I put on the TV and watch/listen to the morning news on Breakfast Television… this morning it wouldn’t turn on… this is serious… called my son-in-law who suggested I might have napped on top of the remote and pushed a button I shouldn’t have… so changing the batteries didn’t really need to happen, lol… not too sure when I will understand the silly remote… good news is the TV is working fine now…
sadly the crocuses are finished blooming, but there is more light every morning although the weather is still in the deep freeze…
spent some time tonight with my ReImagining friends enjoying a great dinner and interesting program…

this morning as I was leaving the house I looked up and there was a sliver of moon and Venus shining brightly… it was just gorgeous… didn’t have an opportunity to get a picture…
we talked about how beautiful it was and enjoyed the moment… my colleague had enjoyed catching glimpses of them as she was on her way to pick me up…
moon a few night’s ago…
reminded me of last night and the conversation we had at BS… how important it is to enjoy the moment, because there is no certainty about the next moment in anyone’s life…
this same conversation took place at the last gathering of my Reimagining friends… and how I am trying to find time each day to be in the moment and realize how special that moment is…
made me think of all the snow and very cold weather we have been having and a comment that a friend put up on Facebook about not wanting to hear anyone complain about the heat in the summer, lol… we are very good at complaining about whatever weather we are experiencing…
on the weekend I took a few pictures of the garden, with the waterfall rock nearly covered with snow… someone reminded me that in 1997 we experienced more snow than this, and another person talked about the winter of 1955-1956 when the there was twice as much snow as we have now… yikes…

when I am sitting out there in the spring and summer enjoying lovely weather I will be able to remember how beautiful and pristine it looked before and after the bunny and squirrels had made paths across it…

had a great evening… dinner with my ReImagining friends… chicken souvlaki from Homer’s, which was particularly delicious tonight…
then, a great discussion about how we can get stuck in any one of seven stages throughout our lives and that the right stage for me might not be the right stage for you…
that brought the conversation around to the fact that twenty years ago (to the day) we travelled to Minneapolis for the first ReImagining Conference… it was an amazing gathering of 2200 people with presentations by theologians from around the world…
we were a small group tonight but enjoyed the conversation and how we have changed and grown over the last twenty years… before we went (about 20 of us, if I remember correctly), we spent many weeks reviewing videos by those who would be presenting at the event… it was something that none of us will ever forget…
then I got dropped off at the office to pick up my car and got stuck in the Jets traffic as the game just finished a few moments before I got into the car… thought I was being very clever to get a ride from work and only have to drive from downtown to home… too funny… took well over half an hour to make a trip that should take 15 minutes tops…
as we were sitting in the car on our friend’s street we noticed snowflakes… just a few, and the sky was quite overcast… made me think of the lovely sky yesterday morning when I first got up…

Monday night I had dinner and spent time with my ReImagining friends…
it is always wonderful when we gather… we take turns hosting, some more than others, depending on our current situations… someone looks after the dinner and someone else leads our program… there are lots of hugs, deep sharing, lots of laughter, and often tears…
we had a lovely chilli with all kinds of toppings, salad, ice cream with chocolate sauce; checked in around the table; had a short program, and then we finished reading our book…
we lit candles in celebration of Candlemas and Valentine’s Day…

then we looked over a number of offerings for our next read…
we have moved from programs that were on a variety of topics, and took a fair bit of time to prepare, to simpler gatherings… the important thing is to be together and so recently we have been reading out loud and discussing guided questions… no one has homework, and we get done what we get done… often a simple question will take us off into a wonderful discussion of life… what insights we share…
these women have been part of my life for at least twenty-five years and provide a powerful sense of home when I am with them… after the last week it was very healing to be with them…
really, how blessed am I…
