a pre-birthday treat this morning when the African Violet had flowers opening…

  

headed downtown early as I had a dental appointment to have my teeth cleaned… beautiful walk… and no cavities… 

brought in nuts, chocolate and fruit for the office to celebrate my birthday… find it such fun to treat my colleagues…

  

others brought in cookies as well…

treated to lunch out and when we got back was surprised with a rendition of Happy Birthday, a cute purple chrysanthemum plant in a bag for presentation, along with chips and a card signed by everyone…

  

when I got home the sun blasted into the living room and shone right on my collection of flowers and cards…

  

spoke with both of my girls, planned some of tomorrow’s celebrations and talked about our week…

I am filled with gratitude for another year where I have been surrounded with great colleagues, friends and family…

up early… of course I would be on a day off, lol…

treated myself to a homemade hot cross bun made by one of my friends… every time I eat one my blood sugar skyrockets… must be the candied fruit because she uses whole wheat flour when she makes them… this was the last one so there won’t be any more temptation…

spent time thinking of friends who are struggling… sad that you can’t really empathize with someone until you have gone through a similar situation… life can be very painful…

watched tv and then did a few chores around the house… tidied the dining room getting ready for Easter dinner with the kids and put a few shells I found into the table… still haven’t found the ones that were in it before Christmas, sigh…

decided to treat myself to supper and ordered thali from Clay Oven through SkipTheDishes…

  

it was delicious and I ate every bite… 

hoping for a sleep-in tomorrow…

beautiful day… sunny and plus 18 Celsius… what a treat…

luckily I had two meetings away from the office, so got an opportunity to be outside… another treat…

was picked up by my daughter and we seemed to fly to my grandson’s volleyball game… it was a few minutes away from where my doctor’s appointment was…

after the appointment I was in a cab and on my way home by 6:20 pm…

made a bit of supper, tidied the kitchen and vegged in front of the TV…

wonderful day…

yesterday for my lunch I had shrimp rolls…

they were a treat from one of my colleagues who knows how much I love them…

they were the person who introduced me to shrimp rolls in the first place…

when George died, everyone from work came to be with me… they came in groups of twos and threes, and always brought me food…

I had no appetite and hadn’t eaten for days and when I finally did eat something it was one of the shrimp rice rolls…

I’ve had them a few times since, but yesterday it brought back all the memories…

took this picture from upstairs this morning… sun was shining

20140315-213941.jpg you can see how the snow is melting on the deck rail and even on the bench…

went for dim sum with the kids and then we went to pick up a bit more wool and of course we found a few other bits and pieces… I got a ceramic knife and look forward to testing it out tomorrow…

stopped at the mall for a while and when I finally got home I had a nap…

later I had the left over dim sum for my dinner…

last night I had a lovely hot tub… it wasn’t very cold and clouds were floating across the sky while the nearly full moon shone brightly… lovely and quiet as the jets didn’t come on… nice treat…
