had a wonderful surprise this morning when I came downstairs…

the hibiscus was blooming… often when you bring a plant indoors it will die back, so this was quite wonderful…

looked out the window and watched the moon… the eclipse had finished earlier and the moon was no longer red, but it sure was big… the picture doesn’t do it justice, lol…

once I got home from work I jumped in the car and raced to the grocery store… I am on for soup tomorrow and am doing a recipe I haven’t tried before, and because I didn’t feel great last night I didn’t get the shopping done… once home I peeled carrots and yams and tossed everything into a soup pot and got cooking…

the really funny part was that this was a crockpot recipe but I didn’t have time to use the crockpot to cook it…

surprisingly it isn’t as orange as expected because I got yams instead of sweet potatoes and they were white inside…

think it tastes okay…

guess we will know for sure tomorrow…
