as we were driving to the office this morning we saw three geese circling and then landing in a creek…

Spring is really coming…

the pile of snow in the backyard that I thought was going to need shovelling is almost gone…

took out the recycling and garbage tonight after work… didn’t need a jacket and my feet were fine in sandals as the ground is drying up beautifully…

finally connected with yesterday’s birthday child by text and she will be home tomorrow night…

took a picture of my sand dollar wreath which has been trying to come apart… plan to get some glue and fix it on the weekend…

beautiful day… up fairly early and spent some time going through a closet and deciding what to keep and what could go… have already started another pass me over box… finding I have much more energy… not sure if that is the sunshine or my body recovering from the sugar overload it was dealing with…

warm enough to be able to use the outside tap to top up the hot tub… 

overcast for most of the day, but late this afternoon the sun came out and melted more snow…



this is the last little bit left in the front yard… hoping that next weekend we can do some raking…



chair is on the deck and there is no snow left on it… wasn’t warm enough to sit out but maybe one night this week after work it will be:-)… the ice is gone from the pond and there are only a few places where there is still snow…

while I was filling the hot tub I also filled up one of the bird feeders… the squirrel had gotten into the  bag of sunflowers and eaten quite a bit… lots of shells…

starting to think about the work needed to clean up the garden and where I am going to find some gardening help this year… I would really like to hire someone to help me so that it looks good all season long…

got up a bit early this morning to be sure I got everything done before heading to work…

had four boxes for pick up by a local charitable organization… in the middle of the night I woke to the sound of rain coming down…

that meant I had to put plastic bags over the boxes so they wouldn’t get ruined sitting on the steps for a portion of the day…

took a bit of extra time to get that done so I was just finished when my ride arrived…



very happy with myself for getting these items pulled together and out of the house…

think the rain melted away lots of snow during the night and then the sun worked hard all day… couldn’t believe how much was gone when I got home…



the deck is almost completely cleared… maybe I will be able to sit out on the weekend… the temperature is often much warmer there than elsewhere in the yard…

had another lovely walk home tonight… passed a number of bushes that have started to produce buds… tried to get a picture but it didn’t turn out…

but I did get a great shot of the creek which is filled with running water…



so wonderful to see the snow melting away more and more each day…

got a wonderful card a few days ago from a friend who knew what a hard time I have been going through…



it came at the perfect time and was a lovely gesture which warmed my heart…

life is so special and moments like a walk in the afternoon and enjoying a card make it even better…

walked from the grocery store after I got a haircut…

beautiful evening… didn’t wear my gloves tonight or last night when I walked home…

got a lovely shot of this tree… thinking it will be filled with buds before too long…



the crows have been squawking a lot… caught this one in one of the trees down the street…



also heard the water swirling into the drains as I came to street corners… there were rivers of running water everywhere I went…



last picture I took was of the garden… the snow is vanishing more and more each day…

before we know it the pond will be ready for the fish…

what a beautiful day… the ground was covered with a tiny blanket of snow when I woke up… got this shot of the neighbour’s garage roof… the snow was glittering…



apparently somebody’s been running around on it… likely one of the neighbourhood squirrels…

because I did all my running around yesterday got to have a relaxing day…

spent time thinking of all the amazing women I have met and learned about over the years on this International Women’s Day…

the sun shone into the bedroom so beautifully that I had to take a few pictures…



of course I had to tidy before taking the pictures, lol… you can see some of the rainbows from the crystals if you look closely…



I love laying in the sunlight…

had supper all prepped and ready well before the kids arrived… the biggest boys spent some time with the fish and I am hopeful the tank will be clear by tomorrow… 

the sidewalks and driveway were cleared…

the chemicals finally made it into the tub, kitchen is tidy and I have walked for half an hour on the treadmill…

gonna watch tv and have a hot tub soon…

the steps were covered with snow as I waited for my ride this morning… I do love the clean look after a fresh snowfall…

when we arrived at the office I had to go out and take some pictures of the snow on the trees, they were so beautiful…

after work my shoveler arrived and did a great job getting rid of the piles of snow… he did need to take a few breaks to warm up his fingers…

then off we went with his mom to have supper at Moxies and pick up a game… they dropped me at home and headed to their place…

there is so much beauty around us and often we don’t even see it…

look around and take a moment to enjoy what you are seeing…

this morning there was a light dusting of snow on the ground… made me take this picture of one of the cute cushions I purchased this year…

throughout the day whenever I looked outside it was snowing…

when it was time to leave the office there was lots of snow to shovel off the car… the temperature was quite warm and the roads were very sloppy…

we stopped at the grocery store and picked up a few staples which was great because I hadn’t shopped on the weekend and had run out of veggies…

it is beautiful out… the world is white… it isn’t snowing right now but there is supposed to be more overnight…

only yesterday we had been talking about the amazing quiet after a snowfall… looking forward to that quiet when I get up in the morning…

woke up to a bit of snow this morning…

it was fairly dark when I took this picture first thing…

cold out, but not horrible… we were surprised at how fast many drivers were going… apparently driving like a maniac was a Friday morning style…

got to spend time with my grandson when he came to shovel… tonight we had chicken wings and kale and Brussel sprout salad for dinner… I ate nine and he had twenty one, lol…

after dinner he worked on homework while I had a little nap on the couch…

just before he was picked up he went out and shovelled the sidewalk again because it has snowed while we were having our dinner…
