misting out this morning when I got up… still had to go outside and add water to the pond…

as I left the driveway I stopped and took a picture of the fountain which we finally got going a few weeks ago…

yesterday it was sunny with a beautiful blue sky as I drove to the office… this was the view today…

the mist turned into outright rain, lol… not nearly so lovely…

picked up an A & W Teenburger for lunch to support the MS Society… wonderful treat and an excellent excuse to have one, lol…

not exactly on my eating plan…

tonight the boys have come over for a sleepover… well, really to play Pokemon Go… after supper we walked to, and around, the Park and caught lots and then had ice cream at Sargent Sundae on our way home…

now there is some hot tubbing going on and then we are off to bed;-)…

gonna sleep well tonight…

at lunch I was collecting Poke balls at the Millennium Park…

okay, okay… the game is fun… well, the bits I know how to play…

rushed home after work as the painting company person was coming to get my signature on the paperwork so they can go ahead with the job…

feeling slightly guilty for having someone come and do this piece of work but also excited that it is actually going to get done…

hoping that the weather cooperates and I can have a freshly painted door and trim early in September…

been thinking a lot of the beauty around us…

four years ago I was just home from a big surgery and trying to lean through the pain…

I remember looking at my beautiful flowers, in the house and outside in the garden and how they made me feel better… beauty does heal…

the sky this morning was filled with many colours and cloud shapes…

over the last few weeks I’ve taken a few pictures of some other amazing shapes…

the spiral architecture of this datura as it opens is so amazing and beautiful… I look at every one of the blooms as they open, in awe of the breathtaking structure…

this mandevilla is blooming like crazy… so many flowers as it spreads out of its container… think we’ve had one on the deck every year for at least a decade… sadly they only last a few years going in and out of the house… it also has a wonderful architecture as the bloom slowly prepares to open…

past its prime, this dahlia is still amazingly beautiful…

spent a while sitting on a bench beside this lovely flower bed on Portage Avenue recently… love the shades of green and pops of colour…

always remind myself to take the time to see the beauty around me…

been missing my beloved recently…

this morning a very big spider was on the kitchen counter… George would have come running when I screamed and dealt with it… he always saved me from bugs and spiders…

now, I don’t bother to scream… just went and got the fly swatter and tried to get it…

this is where it was… but it got away… still somewhere in my kitchen… ugh…

looks like there is only one caterpillar left on the parsley…

tomorrow I will search and see if I can find the chrysalis…

tonight a cricket came in as the patio screen door was opened… was able to catch and deal with it…

lots of creepy crawlers today…

maybe, just maybe, I am caught up in the Pokemon Go game…

I have been catching Pokemons from the house for my grandson… apparently there are a few nests around here…

but today I used up the last of the Poke Balls…

my oldest grandson came for dinner and then we went to Bruce Park where there were five PokeStops, which is where one collects the Poke Balls, lol…

we walked around collecting things from them until his bus came…

then I walked around a few more times collecting more before walking home to watch the Olympic Closing Ceremonies…

did take a few pics of the lovely flower beds while I was there…

yesterday morning I spent some time taking pictures of the moon as it was setting… it was very early and the sky had lots of clouds when I started…

after checking through the pictures on the computer, this is the one I am most pleased with…

this morning got this picture of the sun rising amidst the clouds…

kids were over and did a little work on the siding, trying to waterproof the repaired hydro connection…

and scraping some of the peeling paint…

think I’ve found a company to paint the trim and soon those purple doors are going to have a fresh look;-)…

had some fun in the garden…

my grandson came over and worked at cleaning out the side garden… already looking much better…

the canna which over wintered in the house and looked rather sad this spring is blooming beautifully…

the Japanese Maple is very happy behind the waterfall…

caught these two butterflies flitting about…

they landed for an instant…

found two caterpillars and put them in the parsley… hope they are still there tomorrow…

last night I planned to get up around two and take some shots of the full moon for a friend who always knows when the moon is full... took this one on my phone before I headed to bed…

sadly when I woke up around one, it was too late… was overcast and stayed that way all night…

even in the morning the sky was dull and there was no moon visible…

headed out earlier than usual as I had a dentist appointment to have a filling shaved down a bit…

even though I dislike being at the dentist, I don’t like to be late… got there before they had even unlocked the door, lol… should have gone back right after I discovered the filling wasn’t quite right… would have if I’d believed how simple and pain-free the process of smoothing it off was…

on my way home tonight I saw one of the bendy busses along Portage Avenue… I love to see them because they make me smile… always driving when I see them, so never get a picture…

looking forward to riding on some when I head to Ottawa next month for a short visit with my daughter…

don’t ride the bus here but it is kind of fun there with someone who knows the system…

just last week I bought my grandson one of the peggo cards which are similar to what they use in Ottawa so people don’t need to carry bus tickets or cash…
