my housemate began doing research to find something smallish that would fit in the garage and have enough BTU to sear a steak…
we drove out to Selkirk to the Home Hardware where we saw the barbecue in the store…
it was perfect and exactly what we wanted… with the help of store staff, and a borrowed screwdriver, it got taken apart, which involved taking off the side tables, and separating the legs from the burner portion…
then it was time to move it into the car, and with a little finagling all the bits fit…
once we got home, the pieces were reunited;-)… her name is Glowy… she is a Dyna Glo…
and she is a gift from my family;-)…
Barbie has been in the family since 2017… not really that long, considering she lived in the garage except when she was working;-)… the back had rusted or burnt out completely…
she made it out to the lane where someone will be sure to pick her up for scrap…
was hoping to sit on the deck Wednesday morning while I was waiting for Dynacare to turn up… the weather was supposed to be warm and sunny…
the sun did shine on and off, but the wind was chilly, so I didn’t sit out for long, lol…
the Dynacare technician arrived and took some blood for my next doctor’s appointment… they had trouble getting into the vein and told me I would have a bruise…
decided that the first treat of my birthday week was a pedicure at Total Wrapture…
I’ve been going there for many years, but haven’t been for months…
when I arrived, I was handed a gift card… my daughter had called and paid for my pedicure…
what a lovely surprise…
Julia did a wonderful job… she was very gentle and her foot and leg massage was excellent… I also had a paraffin wax treatment before the colour was put on;-)…
cleaning the pumps in the fishtanks is not one of my favourite things to do… my beloved took care of this job… then for a number of years, my son-in-law looked after the task, lol…
now, it is up to me…
once I get started it isn’t that big a deal and doesn’t really take that long…
and to top it off this week, I scrubbed the algae from the glass front…
Thursday night I picked up a cute little orchid after we attended the Member Preview of Kaleidoscope at The Leaf…
one of the many benefits of membership is that often there are previews of new displays… always great fun…
this new display is filled with bright, colourful, flowers and lots of crystals… I am looking forward to seeing if they produce rainbows on sunny days;-)…
and the neatest thing is a piece that has three kaleidoscopes on it with a platform of flowers which turn and produce the kaleidoscope effect… such an entertaining time, either looking through the three options or spinning the saucer for others to see…
I am also going to go later in the evening to see everything lit;-)…
the orchid is from the Apothecary display, so it is a lovely reminder of that display…
there is always something new or different every time you walk through the biomes…
recently someone commented on my Last Object “kleenex”…
I have been using them for about six years and am very happy with them…
it also brought to mind my “paper towels”…
since the beginning of 2020, I have been using old facecloths and napkins instead of paper… there are still a few thing I use actual paper towels for… particularly things like bacon when it cooks in the microwave, lol…
once they get used, they go into a basket in the laundry room and when it is full, into the washer… dried, folded, and returned to the cupboard, then the top of the microwave to be used…
finally sat down in the computer room and got to work on all the documents I needed to send in…
just recently a friend shared that the pharmacy could provide a list of all my prescriptions for the year… saved me a lot of pasting, as I would organize and stick all the receipts in date order from the pharmacy on letter paper and then scan the pages, lol…
thankfully I had printed a hard copy of most of the donation receipts which was handy when I was searching for all of them in my email, lol…
took a minute, but eventually I figured out how to scan things to the computer and locate where they landed…
then shockingly, I also remembered how to get into the Portal and was able to upload all of the pieces of information…
