got this shot of the morning glories before leaving for the office…
not only can you see the bloom that opened this morning (purple) but yesterday’s one as well (pink)… even a few mandevilla blossoms are visible…
good thing because it has been raining since leaving the office…

I am over-the-moon with excitement…
some time ago I realized that I hadn’t planted any morning glories and was very sad because I really love the flowers… the inner light is mesmerizing…
recently I realized that some seeds from last summer had sprouted in a large container of soil that was sitting under the deck… they hadn’t had any water or sunlight but were growing…
I moved the pot out into the sun and made sure to put water in it… and watched it every day…
a week ago I saw what looked to be buds and I’ve examined them each day to see what would happen… since then we’ve had quite a bit of rain, overcast skies, and cooler temperatures, so I’ve been worried they wouldn’t bloom…
but… this is what happened…
I spent extra time in the garden today sitting and enjoying the purple flowers…
I am in my happy place… flowers really do make me happy;-)…

been rushing out to the garden every time I get home to see if the water lily has bloomed…
it has opened up quite a bit… weather has been cool which doesn’t help… not sure if it is finished or not…
and for whatever reason I haven’t been able to get good pictures… the yellow in the centre always turns fuzzy… weird…

I love taking pictures of raindrops on things… once the rain is over, lol…
it is very funny because I don’t like rain… but I like what it does after it has fallen…
I was also realizing how green the lawn is as I walked up the street after all the rain we’ve received recently… reminded me of Courtenay, BC, where the grass was usually brown most of the summer but once the rainy season came, everything burst into amazing shades of green…

got some shots of flowers and birds in the garden…
sadly it seems that the flowers are getting a bit more sparse… temperatures are falling and the light is receding bit by bit…
also got a few photos of the chickadees as they were flitting back and forth to the feeder… they move so fast that I am always thrilled when I get a shot…
took these with my actual camera…
wondering when I need to bring in the Japanese Maple and the hibiscus… if I wait too long they get rather grumpy and lose all their leaves, lol…

walked over to get a trim at Ultracuts after the rain stopped yesterday… came out very nice…
on my walk back home I came across a group of bikers at the gas station… made me giggle to see one person checking out their cell phone as they waited for others to get gas…
I asked if I might take his photo and he said yes and posed, lol… then I asked if he would go back to looking at his phone, because that was the shot I wanted…

last year around this time we went out to Falcon Lake for some camping fun…
I picked up the cutest magnetic screen protectors, shaped like butterflies… I put the three of them on the patio screen door…
recently I caught this picture of an actual butterfly on the screen…
wondered if it was having a visit with its magnet friends, lol…

our last day of camping was sunny but windy…
after a hike along the beach the decision was made not to take the boat out… the whitecaps were big…
got some great photos along the way…
so, we packed up and headed toward home… we stopped at Seven Sisters Falls on the way and had a lovely wander along the river…
beautiful scenery… a reminder of lovely visits that my beloved and I took to this spot… it was fun for the boys to see it for the first time…
while we were there the boys spotted many frogs… made me giggle because I often take photos of frogs… they use a much more hands-on approach…

the other evening there was a thunderstorm…
afterwards I took this photo out the front door… hadn’t been much sun for most of the day, so it was great to see this…
I was on the watch for a rainbow because the sky just had that look about it…
and then, this…
it was gorgeous and reminded me of the many rainbows we saw when we were on Maui… I think we saw at least one every day and one day we saw five…

spent some time out in the garden watching for the baby fish which I spotted a few days ago… I saw at least two sizes, so am eager to see how many there are…
they move really quickly, so the chances of getting any shots of them is slim…
but I did get a few pictures of the rest of the fish sunning themselves…
I’ve also been taking photos daily of the water lily bud as it slowly grows toward the surface of the pond…
really hoping I get to see it bloom…
