wow…
the sky has been amazing to look at it…
this was as we were heading home after work…
this was a about an hour later…
all of a sudden the wind picked up and blew the trees around like crazy…
then it poured for a few minutes…
now it is overcast but not raining…

some wonderful moments today…
the sky was stunning as I headed downtown… there were a few clouds but the light on them was just beautiful… having to drive means I often don’t get the pictures I would like…
I took in a box of children’s books that had been hanging around the house and watched with delight as three colleagues found treats to take home for their little people…
as I was driving down a street in Charleswood tonight I came across a deer in a yard just quietly standing there…
ended the night with purple hair…
hasn’t had any purple in it for weeks so it was a wonderful treat to have it back…

up early again… no doubt tomorrow I will want to sleep in…
another serendipitous moment when I peeked out the patio doors and caught sight of this beautiful goldfinch having breakfast at the feeder, on this overcast/rainy day…
put on those big girl pants and drove around the Perimeter to get to my daughter’s place… we went shopping before the family birthday party for the middle grandson and his daddy…
picked up new swimsuits for everyone to have here for the hot tub and one for me to leave at their house for their new hot tub…
tested out the hot tub, and both it, and the new swimsuit, were great…
also picked up a Canada Day t-shirt…
my older daughter encouraged me a few years ago to have an appropriate shirt on Canada Day so I’ve been doing that…
after supper the birthday boys blew out the candles on a Blizzard Cake from Dairy Queen…
drove home and got a shot of two more hibiscus flowers…
quite a fun day, even if I am exhausted, lol…

on my way out to the car this morning — with my hands full of various bits and bags for work — I had to stop and take a picture of the pink sky…
my driving buddy thought I’d fallen as it took me a few extra seconds to get to the car, lol…
took lots of pictures as we drove downtown… you never know, when the sky is so beautiful, when it will vanish…
at lunch I went for a walk with my daughter as our yoga class was cancelled… did well, particularly as I hadn’t planned on walking… had a spare jacket to put under my coat and pulled up my hood… only my legs got cold…
then my grandson met me at the office and came to shovel… afterwards we had leftover lentils with brown basmati rice along with roasted brussel sprouts and mushrooms…
he chose the menu and prepped the veggies… we had a lovely visit and he headed home on the bus…
what a treat…

on my way home stopped at Safeway to pick up some snacks for tomorrow evening’s road trip…
I am going to Fargo with my kids…
it is a three hour drive so I thought we’d need something to keep us all entertained and busy… apparently the tablets and phones will all be charged for the trip…
in our family, trips have always been an excuse to eat treats… of course, because we are crossing the border couldn’t include fruit or meat, lol…
got sunflower seeds for the dad, pretzels for the mom, a variety of chip-y things for the younger crowd, as well as Goldfish, pistachios, sesame crackers, and gummies…
think it should be enough to get us through the drive…
thankfully, my suitcase is packed so now I just have to figure out what bag the snacks will fit into…
