been thinking a lot of mothers and daughters lately…
a number of women in my circles are in that difficult place where they are looking after their mothers…
some of them are ill, some just need extra support…
it reminds me of when I looked after my mom as she was dying… and what a gift that time was for me…
it also makes me think of my girls and how they are looking after me now…
seems like what goes around comes around, lol…

had a great conversation about mothers recently…
from a group of six, one had an excellent relationship with their mom, two had regular ones and three had difficult connections with their mothers…
always interesting to learn about other people’s history and how it shaped them…
my mother had a nervous breakdown when my brother was born and spent the next twenty years in and out of hospital… certainly affected our relationship… although we didn’t connect for most of my life, we did become very close during the last years of her life…
for the last four months we spent every day together… I was extremely blessed to have that time with her and get to say all the things I needed…
I wonder about my legacy to my girls…
