managed to get a few chores done around the house but that is about all…

bit of a headache hanging over me today… tried sleeping, but that hasn’t done anything to alleviate it…

happy I did the running around yesterday although the headache was there too…

looks lovely outside, although overcast… for a good portion on the morning it was snowing so there is a new dusting of snow over everything… always looks so clean afterwards… too bad the sun hasn’t come out… 

  
the critters have been out and about since the first of the snow… there are little footprints everywhere… not sure if it the bunny, squirrels or cats…

bit of sun might make my head feel a bit better…

think I will make some chicken soup…

so excited this morning to see the moon out the window… made me jump out of bed to take a picture and I discovered that there was a planet just above it…  couldn’t decide if it was Venus or Mars, lol, but cool… this was a wonderful treat because it has been overcast for days…

a little later I got this shot of the sun shining brightly…


what a treat… wasn’t out in the garden for long but took the time to look out the windows to enjoy the sunshine whenever I could…

picked up groceries and made zucchini basil soup, which is becoming a staple in my house, for my dinner… it is so tasty and easy…

got the ingredients chopped and cooking…

  

within half an hour was blending it together…

  

enjoyed it with some lovely Tuscan garlic bread from Safeway…

 

walked into the living room and enjoyed this topper to the day…

 
now spending the evening drinking chocolate rocket tea and watching ice skating on tv… 

funny how the rough days make the ones that follow more special as you realize how wonderful life really is…

it was overcast all day…

took this first thing when I was waiting for my ride…

  
I poured a cup of very hot tea all over myself this morning… heavy pants saved my leg but my foot and sandal got a good splash… red for quite a while but eventually everything dried and my foot felt better…

seemed like I was cranky for the rest of the day…

it was getting dark as we drove up to the house after work… at a few minutes to five… yikes…

first thing this morning when I went out to the car it was dark…

  
really dark… it was extra early as we had an event first thing…

found the darkness a bit sad… a reminder that soon it will be cold and dark so much of the time…

  
the good part of it all was that the traffic was light, lol…

couldn’t tell what the weather was going to be like… did have the heat on in the car which was nice…

was thinking it was going to rain but it didn’t during the day…

on the drive home it was overcast and did spit a bit…

 the traffic was light again, as I got to leave early…

excellent start to my long Thanksgiving weekend…

been overcast and rainy for the whole day…

took a few minutes between showers to go out and get a few pictures… sadly my camera keeps making the morning glories blue rather than their actual purple so I didn’t include them…

  
fist thing I spotted was the bunny… getting bigger and so cute…

  
this canna has been flowering since July 17, twenty-one days… great addition to the pond…

  
first picture of the echinacea this year… happily they didn’t get pulled out in the spring as they look so much like a weed…

throughout the day, I packed my bag for camping with the kids…

  

still room for a few last minute things… which is good, because there always seem to be items to tuck in… George had a penchant for adding additional bags of stuff at the last second…

spent a half hour on the treadmill and was careful about what I ate during the day…

hoping for clear skies tomorrow and over the weekend:-)…

first thing I saw when I stepped outside this morning…

  
as I drove to work the sun came in and out of view in the overcast sky… was very happy to be able to stop at the end of the street and get a shot of it… kind of hard to tell that actually is the sun, lol…

 
after work I drove home with my visor down to protect my eyes from the bright sun…

saw some beautiful cloud formations…

  
again, very lucky to have a red light so that I could take the picture…

tonight I read about how a young friend had a conversation about what clouds look like with their child on their way home today… they were probably looking up at the same time as I was…

still cold and windy, but the snow has gone…

amazing what you can see over the course of the day if you take the time to look…

looking out the window this morning the sky was overcast and the temperature had fallen… the warm weather has gone…

had to run out and pick up a few things for our dinner for my daughter and her husband who celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary last Thursday…

we had steak, lobster, twice-stuffed potatoes, mushrooms and salad… and for dessert we made s’mores cooked on a fire pot in the dining room…

seemed like a busy day…

spent a quiet day… mostly overcast with a bit of rain here and there… didn’t have any urge to go out anywhere…

Crystal came by to pick up and drop off the car, which she was borrowing for a few errands…

reorganized the kitchen a bit by moving the recycling box under the counter… made chicken and dumplings for my dinner which got me thinking about my mom… the dumpling recipe I use is one she always used… these days I am cutting it in half as I don’t want to be eating dumplings for days, lol…

when I made the turkey stock the other day, I roasted the bones first and I am not sure if I like the flavour or not…

put chemicals in the hot tub, watched some tv and cleaned out my closet… even managed to put a few clothing items into a box to give away…

felt like I just did what I wanted which was very nice…

had to unplug the pump in the pond because it appeared to be running out of water… which leads me to think that the leak is still not fixed… I am going to have to deal with that again this week and also need to rake both the front and back yards as the trees have very generously donated leaves everywhere… sadly the tree next door still has lots of leaves on it, so no doubt we will have to rake again…

got this shot of the full moon the other night as I was arriving home from my dinner out, and the hour-long drive home… the lights on the new baby are much brighter than on the last car…
