walking down the stairs first thing, I had to run and get the phone and camera so I could take pictures of the sun…
sky was covered in a haze all day, from forest fires to the west…
almost the identical sky when I walked home tonight…

this morning the sun looked very strange in the sky…
it was orange with a halo around it…
most of the poppies were blooming… all at the same time… think there might be one left…
made sure to get some photos because they often barely last a day…
leaving the driveway I got a picture of the front flower bed… looks nice after all my work on Saturday…
I picked two beautiful purple irises to take to the office…
they are beautiful and brighten up my space…
as the day went on the light outside changed and it looked as though the sun was covered by fog, which turned out to be smoke…
rather odd…

on my way downstairs this morning I ran back to the bedroom and got my phone so I could take this picture…
it was 6:37 am… the sky was amazing…
this was out the same window at 7:15 am…
was supposed to be sunny all day but this did not bode well…
the sky was beautiful as we drove downtown at 8:05 am… I love it when the sun shines through clouds…
the sun did shine for the entire day which was wonderful…
as I write this it is just getting dark outside… light really is staying longer every day…
although I was off on Monday, it feels like it has been a long week…

everyone is so excited for spring…
the crows were chatting amongst themselves as I was heading out to my ride this morning…
there were a couple of them in the tree…
as we turned onto the next street I caught sight of a good-sized brown bunny…
on my way home tonight I walked part way and enjoyed the birdsong and the sun on my face…
got a shot of these buds bursting into leaves…
sun was shining and the wind had died down… just beautiful out…
just this morning I was thinking about how light it is so early…
looking forward to more warm and sunny days…
yay spring…

first thing I saw when I stepped outside this morning…
as I drove to work the sun came in and out of view in the overcast sky… was very happy to be able to stop at the end of the street and get a shot of it… kind of hard to tell that actually is the sun, lol…
after work I drove home with my visor down to protect my eyes from the bright sun…
saw some beautiful cloud formations…
again, very lucky to have a red light so that I could take the picture…
tonight I read about how a young friend had a conversation about what clouds look like with their child on their way home today… they were probably looking up at the same time as I was…
still cold and windy, but the snow has gone…
amazing what you can see over the course of the day if you take the time to look…

A1C, Baileys, big girl pants, celebration, cholesterol, snow, sun
quite the day weather-wise… started out warm and sunny, snowed for a long time and then the sun came back out…
when I left for the doctor’s office it took me about ten minutes to clear the snow off the car… by the time I got into the car after my appointment much of the remaining snow had melted off the car…
here’s what it looked like out the window when I got home…
had a great appointment… blood tests showed my A1C test came back at 6.2 which was good news… she was pleased with my food diary and blood sugar records… and, my blood pressure was perfect in her words…
I don’t have to go back for three months and can start to eat a bit more protein at meals… I do need to eat more fish and maybe get a bit more exercise as my good cholesterol is low, although the LDL number is much better than the last test…
wanted to celebrate and considered ordering something for supper… then decided I would make the supper I had planned in the morning…
rather proud of myself, lol… but I did have a few chips and a little glass of Baileys…
lots to celebrate this week…

crazy variety of weather today…
first thing this morning I looked out the window to see this…
could barely see in front of our noses… wet snow falling and strong winds…
around noon the snow stopped but the wind continued…
on our way home the sun was out and the snow was melting…
it was beautiful so I decided to walk part way home, although the wind did push me around… was a bit worried about the sidewalks and whether they still had ice on them… mainly dry with just a few wet patches… great walk…
this is what I saw when I got home and looked out that same window…
wonder what it is going to look like tomorrow, lol…

beautiful day… up fairly early and spent some time going through a closet and deciding what to keep and what could go… have already started another pass me over box… finding I have much more energy… not sure if that is the sunshine or my body recovering from the sugar overload it was dealing with…
warm enough to be able to use the outside tap to top up the hot tub…
overcast for most of the day, but late this afternoon the sun came out and melted more snow…
this is the last little bit left in the front yard… hoping that next weekend we can do some raking…
chair is on the deck and there is no snow left on it… wasn’t warm enough to sit out but maybe one night this week after work it will be:-)… the ice is gone from the pond and there are only a few places where there is still snow…
while I was filling the hot tub I also filled up one of the bird feeders… the squirrel had gotten into the bag of sunflowers and eaten quite a bit… lots of shells…
starting to think about the work needed to clean up the garden and where I am going to find some gardening help this year… I would really like to hire someone to help me so that it looks good all season long…

the garage roof looked like diamond studded waffles this morning…
hmmmm, maybe I am focusing a bit too much on food, lol… it was shiny and I do love the glittery look…
shortly after that, the sun came streaming into the main floor TV room… caught a rainbow in the mirror…
headed out for a shopping expedition with a friend… my clothes are hanging off me and even the pants purchased a month ago are too big now…
was out for five hours, went to five stores… found lots of things to try on and came home with bags full of lovely items… a few of them were a bit outside of my comfort zone:-)…
well, I think I am good for clothes for the next while…
looked out the window to see the snow in the pond was nearly gone, just a bit of ice left…
amazing day… sunshine, warmth, great shopping, lovely lunch…
and lots of shiny objects…
in my circle, shiny objects refer to the things that grab our attention when we are doing something else… things that take away our attention from what we are focussed on…

this morning I noticed how bright out it was on my drive to work… yay…
then, part way through the morning the sun came streaming through a colleague’s window and landed on her tulips… just gorgeous…
all of them have perked up since yesterday and look amazing… they have certainly brightened my day…
spent a wonderful few minutes wandering around the office taking pictures… I haven’t had a chance to look the shots over yet, but I had great fun… there were lots of tulips to check out…
flowers do make me happy…
