beautiful day… the sun was shining, yay…

  
those are shadows on the wall and door… very exciting after the last week of hazy skies when everyone was getting down and feeling bad…

as I was driving to work the sun was in my eyes and I had to put down the visor… amazing how wonderful it felt, lol…

this evening I am at a soccer game… it is a bit cool but the sun is shining and everyone is in a great humour…

weather has been interesting over the weekend…

yesterday morning I took these pictures of clouds looking in two directions…

   
 

and last night as I was walking home from supper out with the kids…

  
although it had been raining just a while before, in this shot it was beautiful…

today was a bit overcast early in the day and then the sun came out and lit up the garden as I worked in one section… happy with my work…

  
put out all the cushions and we had a lovely visit when the kids came for dinner… 

had supper on the deck, and just finished in time to move everything into the house and garage as the sky darkened…

poured for about fifteen minutes after they drove out of the driveway… left footprints when I went into the garden afterwards…

last night at 11:30 I took this picture out the window…

the dragonfly mobile was lit up… it works on solar power so I am very excited at this example that the sun is getting stronger every day… woo hoo…

had a quiet day… got a few jobs done around the house… watched some tv and had a nap…

brought home my tulips… the white ones are a bit sad about the whole travelling in the cold business… 

probably didn’t help that I left them in the car for fifteen minutes when I ran into Safeway…

lovely sunshine in my eyes when I was watching TV this morning… not even sad that I couldn’t see the show…

last night I searched through my closet and found this pink shirt to wear today…

actually the only pink piece of clothing I own… but I dug it out to wear to support the PinkShirtDay initiative to fight bullying… last year I forgot until much later in the day… 

amazing how many people commented on the colour…

when I got home tonight I took a picture of the new lamp… I think I like it in this spot…

more beautiful sunshine coming through the window so I took a few pictures of the light on the orchid…

hard to get a good shot the way the sunbeams were coming through the window…

it is quite astonishing to me how light and sunshine can raise my spirits…

had a wonderful day… got so much done…

my sleepover buddy and I had breakfast at the “A”… we drove because it was minus 45 out there…

then it was home to sort and label the Christmas boxes… emptied two or three and labeled all that remained… great to have the shelves organized…

still didn’t find the sea shells… I can’t believe it…

dropped my helper off at the bus and did a few errands… picked up an extension cord for the car as I will be driving to work for the next few weeks and the temperature isn’t rising anytime soon, lol…

found two pieces of documentation I’ve been looking for, so was happy with that…

moved the orchid to the coffee table and tried to find a spot for the new lamp I bought a few days ago…

been watching the Oscars for what seems like hours, but I can’t tear myself away…

enjoyed the sunshine…

this morning the sunlight was streaming through the window onto the new pictures on the wall…

later in the day I basked in the sunshine in the living room…

the moon will be full tomorrow and tonight when I was in the hot tub, I noticed a circle around it… not sure I’ve seen this before…

did a little research and discovered it is a lunar halo and isn’t that uncommon…

it can be a harbinger of bad weather…

glad I got to enjoy the wonderful sunshine, lol…

got a lovely surprise today…

my friend brought me a gorgeous purple orchid…

it was a thank you for using my car… I’m happy to lend it to her… it always comes back filled with gas and freshly washed… I still don’t like to take it to the car wash…

during the winter I don’t take it out much so it is always happy to get a drive in, lol…

I was so happy because I’ve been trying to get out and pick an orchid up for the house… they are wonderful because they flower for a long time…

I do tend to treat flowering plants like cut flowers… enjoy them until they die off…

was particularly lovely, as I had spent the day at home… still wasn’t feeling well so gave in and climbed back into bed this morning…

had a hot tub in the afternoon and watched the squirrel come down through the trees like they were stairs… didn’t see any birds even though the sun was shining… it shone for a good portion of the day which was also very nice as it has been dull for ages…

hoping to feel much better in the morning…

got a few jobs done around the house…

spent time resting and watching tv, and enjoying the sunshine which was streaming through the windows…

collected all the ornaments and balls in the table and packed them up for next year… table looks a bit empty so I’ll have to find something to put in there… not quite ready for the shells again…

another sunshiny day…

stayed in for breakfast… felt like –41 Celsius outside…

went out for lunch with a friend and his three children… busy, lol…

one of my gifts was a light that I can turn on with an app on my iPhone… besides white, it can also turn any colour I’d like… guess which colour I’ve made it so far…

I think the hibiscus is in just the right place in the living room… must be getting the correct dose of sunlight…

there were at least thirteen buds this morning… looks amazing considering it probably only has twenty or thirty leaves on it…

enjoyed a very short walk getting home… crisp but lovely…

a great day filled with sunshine… haven’t had a lot of it lately so really appreciated it… happy to be able to take the time to enjoy the moment…
