today my dear colleague, who has done a ton of work to help get my office organized, brought in the last piece…

it is a wall hanging that started its life as a table runner for my dining room…

she had it steamed, sewed up the edges, picked up a dowel and some hangers for it…

it fills the final spot on the wall perfectly…

I had a lovely orchid in the space, but a few days ago when I got to work it had dropped all of its blossoms…

just on the weekend, I had picked up another beautiful plant, so this morning, I strapped it into the seatbelt in the back of the car and brought it to work… made the trip perfectly and looks great in the space, although it has a white pot, not purple…

but it looks wonderful… and has a special feel about it…

wonderful…

just spent the evening with the most wonderful women in my life…

we had a short stint in the hot tub and then sat out on the deck and caught up on our summer…

a beautiful evening which ended under the stars…

lovely to have time together…

below are a few shots of the morning glories that began my day…

they have the most wonderful light emanating from their centre… always make me think of my beloved…

last night, after our supper, cooked on the fire, we had s’mores… we used chocolate covered cookies and smooshed the marshmallow between two of them… yummy… couldn’t get a photo because it was dark…

today the sky was very interesting… this is the view I had when I woke up…


the dog and I took a short walk and got this picture…


up early again, but everyone else got up too, and we went fishing…


the sky was foggy or misty or smoky, we couldn’t decide which…



got a fun shot of some of the boats in the marina…


later in the day finally got a nice picture of one of the many loons we saw throughout our time in the boat…


there was lots of tubing fun..

had the most wonderful day off…

got up early, had a cup of tea, and went for a walk to the Park… it was a beautiful morning…

I’ve never seen debris up against the bridge before…

had breakfast on my own and watched geese and ducks while I enjoyed my meal…

then I wandered through the English and Leo Mol Gardens with my camera in hand…

plants are springing up and the daffodils were blooming… haven’t been for a while and happy to spend time in the Gardens and see the life emerging…

got home, had a nap and lunch… then I went out for a hot tub and enjoyed watching the waterfall…

air dried on a lounger in the sun and spent some time reviewing my photos from the morning…

watched a bit of tv… had another nap and made one of my ChefsPlate meals…

finished the day with chocolate and chips…

couldn’t have been better…

interesting weather day…

started off at 19 Celsius and sunny… but it did say something about thunderstorms later in the day…

when I got into the car at the end of the day it registered 32 and the sky was starting to get dark, but it didn’t rain on my drive…

once I was home and ate my dinner the rain began…


not that we really need more rain… the hibiscus has many yellow leaves from too much water…

and then the sky opened up and dumped so fast that it was difficult to see out the window and it looked like smoke was coming from the neighbour’s roof as the wind blew the rain across it…


it didn’t hail here, although it certainly made me think it was going to… but it did about 15 streets to the west…

by the time my friends arrived it had stopped raining and while we were visiting the sky started to clear and the sun came out…

when they left the sun was shining from the backside of the clouds so I had to get a picture of the lovely pink highlights…


always think how lovely it is to be able to enjoy these special moments in time… not only the weather but the opportunity to spend time with these wonderful and wise women…

been a busy day… well, the morning was… I did a few chores around the house, and then Crystal and the little boys picked me up and we went grocery shopping for Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner…

when we got to the grocery store both boys wanted to hold my hand… this is a bit endearing for me, because when Grandpa was alive, they would have been holding his hand and I would have been walking along behind…

these moments are precious and made the shopping very special… they are also very busy and three adults with the two of them would have been a slightly better ratio… we shopped at Safeway for the dinner, and stopped at M&M for the treats for Christmas Eve… when we got back, everyone came in for a few minutes to scarf down their lunch and bring in the groceries, before blasting off to the next errand on their list…

I had some lunch and then a nap… I had plans to wrap gifts but ended up laying on the bed for the remainder of the day… the house is feeling empty just now… I am missing the comings and goings of my mate… I haven’t noticed this feeling in recent weeks but as Christmas gets closer, I guess it makes sense…

sadly, I am thinking of many others I know who are facing this Christmas with one less person in their lives… I am sending thoughts and prayers their way and hoping they will be able to find some joy during these special days…

before, all of the kids would come to our house on Christmas Eve and everyone would sleep over, there would be people everywhere… we would get up early and open our presents all together… this year, I am going to the kids’ on Christmas Eve  to sleep over and we will open our presents there… Cyndi and Ron will be together in BC and we may Skype with them as presents are opened, although it will be very early for them…

we will come back here in time to put the turkey in the oven and will likely hot tub and play games on the TV ending up with dinner…

it all feels different and strange to me, but I am sure it will be wonderFULL… I’ll keep you posted, lol…
