Wednesday morning after I had my breakfast, I walked over to Ultracuts for a haircut… I had called and they weren’t busy so I moved quickly, lol…
it has been very icy for quite some time so I was a bit concerned as I wondered if the sidewalks would be clear… and, happily they were…
it was great to get the haircut because the last few home cuts were poorly done, lol…

last Thursday a person from Manitoba Hydro arrived at the door…
I was a bit surprised, because I was expecting an inspector on Friday to review, and hopefully, approve the gas hot water tank installation…
but the Thursday person was here to change the Hydro meter…
after they changed it they advised that it was wifi enabled and they would be able to read it from outside the house once it is hooked up to their system…
I was a bit worried because when I looked at the meter a while later it was still showing zeros across the board… but, by Friday, it was starting to move… woohoo…
and then on Friday, the inspector arrived late, but approved the work, whew… which is kind of good considering it was over a month since the tank was installed, lol…

had a lovely wander around The Leaf on Wednesday…
I went on my own for the first time and for anyone who knows me, that is pretty good…
the cacao trees are looking a bit sad, but most of the Tropical Biome looked good…
I spent quite some time watching the fish… they were very active swimming around the pond and a number of plants have been trimmed back so they are also much easier to see;-)…
the orchids in the Mediterranean Biome are still doing very well, with tons of blooms on them…
and the biggest surprise was the Butterfly Garden, which had more butterflies flying around than I’ve ever seen here…
zoo staff were letting a good number emerge from the nursery and there were many people admiring them as well… it is always fun to hear what the keepers have to say about the butterflies… they record each one as they release it…
then I took one last walk through the biomes as I waited for my ride…

a few days ago my Fitbit wouldn’t connect to my phone… very odd…
then, all of a sudden, the screen went black… I put it on the charger, but that didn’t make a difference…
eventually I went online and found instructions on how to restart the Charge 5…
I followed the instructions and put it on the charger overnight…
happily, it worked perfectly after that;-)…

today’s project was to get all the tax documents gathered, scanned, and uploaded to the accountant portal…
seemed like a simple piece of work, but…
that business of changing my email address keeps biting me in the butt…
because it was changed, and currently, my new email isn’t available on the main computer, it involved a number of phone calls to get help…
eventually I was able to get into the portal, and after scanning all of the documents, upload everything…
I am always so pleased when everything is completed and on its way…
now to wait to hear back from them…

when the cleaners were here last week, I heard a crash and one of them brought me this angel… in three pieces…
it was put on the kitchen counter and my housemate first glued on one piece, left it for a few days and added the other piece…
he is much more precise when putting things together, lol… reminds me of my beloved;-)…
she is now put together nicely, although missing a hand, but we haven’t found that piece…
still, she has joined her sisters on the bedroom shelf…

spent a good part of Friday watching two elm trees across the creek being removed…
they’ve had the deadly orange dot on them since the fall, a sure sign their time was up…
because they were in a field it was obviously more difficult to take them down as they couldn’t get one of the big trucks close to them…
it was entertaining;-)…

went to Costco on Wednesday morning and clearly picked a great time as parking was easy and the store wasn’t too busy…
I was very happy that the frozen raspberries I use were not a product of the USA, and neither was the Parmesan cheese…
it is kind of difficult on most packaging to find the information that tells you clearly where it comes from 😬…

the other day, as my housemate was leaving the house, the handle for the front door came off in his hand…
he wasn’t able to fix it then and when he got home we discovered that we didn’t have the correct tool to make the repair…
happily, no deliveries arrived and I didn’t have to go out the next day, lol…
once he had the right implement, it only took a few minutes to fix the problem;-)…
now I’m not afraid to open the door;-)…

it was much warmer for a few days last week and when I went to check the doorbell camera one evening, it was impossible to see anything…
after cleaning the camera portion, it was much easier to see…
made me laugh as it hasn’t been working due to the cold weather…
