the chair covers have not really been doing their job so the cushions have been inside the patio doors and kind of clogging up the kitchen…
I am testing using both covers on one chair to see if that will protect the cushions and keep them dry…
fingers crossed…
we will see how it works out;-)…

my buddy and I have been going to aquasize long before we both retired…
since retirement, we’ve been going to the Pan Am Pool, either Tuesdays or Thursdays…
last year my buddy went to the annual Aquasize Lunch and this year we both went…
we had a lovely meal at Breezy Bend…
it was fun to try to recognize one another with clothes, hair, and makeup…
there were lots of items to try to win, although we didn’t bring anything home, lol…
a lovely group of people;-)…
and the service was excellent…

took Indi to have a bath this morning…
spent a few minutes before leaving home to empty out the trunk so it could be cleaned as well…
when I arrived there were maybe 10 or 15 cars lined up, but I decided to wait…
took about 25 minutes to get in and then about 15 to run through the machinery…
she always looks gorgeous when she comes out, and with her summer rims on, lol…
when she was done there were about 40 cars waiting…
good thing I waited, lol…

spent the morning between reading and watching the move-out next door…
luckily, there were lots of helpers, although it still took four hours to fill the u-haul, two trucks, and two cars before they left…
an hour or so later, as the sky was clouding over, a hired crew came to move the hot tub to its new home…
next up will be seeing who moves in;-)

had a delightful time with my friends on Sunday to celebrate my birthday;-)…
we went to Pauline’s Bistro for their Sunday French High Tea…
there were a number of teas to choose from with tasty savoury items and dainties…
the platter I shared with a friend included a candle to celebrate my birthday;-)…
I really enjoyed the scones, but my favourite savoury bite was the: Thank You For The Truffle – Wild Mushroom Pâté, Black Truffle Oil, Thyme, Grilled Cherry Tomato…
it was very tasty…
my favourite sweet was: Sophie’s Sweet Surprise – Pistachio Sponge, Raspberry Confit, Pistachio Cream, Vanilla Chantilly, Fresh Raspberries…
we each wore a piece of our mothers’ jewellery to celebrate them… brooches, earrings, a necklace, and rings… we had fun sharing stories of the pieces we’d chosen…
lots of laughter and great conversation as we enjoyed our “tea”…
what a special treat;-)… and what a gift these women are in my life…

went for a walk to the English Garden on Thursday morning… it was so windy that I couldn’t wear my hat, and my scarf ended up with the tails blowing behind me…
had a little break beside Sargent Sundae as I waited for my walking buddies…
hadn’t been yet this spring so it was interesting to see the state of the gardens as it has not been long since the snow melted…
the gardens were clean and tidy, but not much was growing yet, lol…
we did come across some photographers who were looking for birds;-)…
the most fun was counting the frogs by the pergola… in just a few minutes I saw at least twelve…
got all my steps in between walking to, around, and home from the Gardens…

was treated to a blizzard to celebrate my birthday…
was kind of funny, because I was cold after getting chilled in an air conditioned restaurant…
so I sat there eating the blizzard in my winter coat, with the seat warmer going, and gloves on…
but it was a wonderful treat… and half of it did go into the freezer for another day, lol…

had dinner at Gather Craft Kitchen and Bar on Friday after my volunteer shift to celebrate my birthday eve…
the new menu looks great and we enjoyed everything we had…
we shared the brioche with butter and honey… the bread was warm and the butter soft… delicious… the look on my grandson’s face reminded me of the cartoon dog Snuffles, that rose into the air after eating something tasty…
then we had the potato paillassons, which were also delicious… yum…
I had the beef tartare… really enjoyed it with the bread…
my grandson had the grilled octopus, with paella rice, saffron aioli, and chervil, and noted how nicely it was cooked…
every bite was delightful… and I am looking forward to the next visit to try some of the other items…

for my birthday, I requested a new barbecue…
my housemate began doing research to find something smallish that would fit in the garage and have enough BTU to sear a steak…
we drove out to Selkirk to the Home Hardware where we saw the barbecue in the store…
it was perfect and exactly what we wanted… with the help of store staff, and a borrowed screwdriver, it got taken apart, which involved taking off the side tables, and separating the legs from the burner portion…
then it was time to move it into the car, and with a little finagling all the bits fit…
once we got home, the pieces were reunited;-)… her name is Glowy… she is a Dyna Glo…
and she is a gift from my family;-)…
Barbie has been in the family since 2017… not really that long, considering she lived in the garage except when she was working;-)… the back had rusted or burnt out completely…
she made it out to the lane where someone will be sure to pick her up for scrap…
