on Tuesday my arm started to ache as the day went along… by the end of the day it was really sore…

possibly a bit of carpal tunnel;-(… I’ve had it a few times over the years…

before bed I dug out the wrist braces that were my mom’s… put one on for the night…

have worn it all day for the past few days but am taking it off for bed…

plan to wear it tomorrow as well, just to be sure my wrist and arm have had a good rest…

will need to pay attention over the next while to be sure it doesn’t progress…

been pretty lucky in the chocolate department recently…

picked up some Decadence Chocolate a while back… took my grandsons to the shop and they each chose a bar and we got the last chocolate-dipped strawberries for our supper… oh my, oh my…

might also have had some of my Berrilicious Chocolate bar…

Amanda, of Melt Chocolate Company, delivered a couple of boxes of bonbons…

I only had one and it was delicious… I shared the rest with my BS buddies and work colleagues…

I had planned to send some to my daughter in Ottawa, but with the rotating postal strikes we decided it didn’t make sense to send them as they need to be eaten while they are still fresh…

we have been very lucky with the snowfall so far this year… been really cold but little snow has fallen…

I do have a person to come and shovel for me, which makes me happy… I don’t have to worry about whether my grandson can make it over, although I am going to miss our time together…

think we will have to plan some supper dates…

here’s what I saw when I opened the back door this morning…

the garage door had opened during the night, sigh… once the temperature reaches a certain point the door won’t stay closed… I didn’t do anything about replacing it over the summer… guess I’ll be using the front to get in and out of the house for the next few months…

but, did see some bunny tracks…

when I came home it was all clear… I think he ended up blowing the snow because there really wasn’t much on the ground…

what a lovely treat…

pretty darn fine eating day…

started out with Rice Krispies, almond milk and half a banana… still giggle when I hear the snap, crackle, pop…

was at Kitchen Sync at lunch and had a delicious salad, beautifully plated with a large slice of cheese, and the most amazing beef bourguignon with bacon… food was by Modern Plate Catering…

then to end the day on a good note, was treated to supper at Yafa Cafe… shared some hummus and pita and had red lentil soup… ordered some falafel but ended up bringing them home…

thought that was the end of it, but at our BS gathering shortbread turned up and a super delicious carrot cake…

it has been ten years since my beloved had a quadruple bypass…

he caught a virus that caused immense damage to his heart…

I can still remember the doctor’s appointment where we discovered that he was in heart failure and would need surgery…

all the appointments between that first meeting and his surgery…

waiting during the operation, wondering if he would survive… and watching his miraculous recovery from the surgery…

he came home November 17, 2008 and we had forty wonderful months…

yesterday my BS friends and I went out for a birthday lunch… wasn’t really sure whose it was as we are way behind in our celebrating, lol…

only to discover it was my birthday lunch…

what a wonderful time we had… my first time at Little Goat on Portage…

I had moules et frites… very tasty…

such fun spending time with these amazing women…

we have a tradition that the birthday person gets their card in a very old gift bag that we put a photo of us into many years ago… it is rather delicate now after years of travelling from one person to the next…

part of the deal is that you are in charge of the bag once you get it and have to remember where it is for the next time it is needed…

how lucky am I to have these very special women in my life…

on the weekend I had a bit of fun as I redesigned the drawer in the living room table…

in the summer I usually fill it with sea shells and rocks…

in the fall I’ve used scarves or photographs…

for the holiday season there have been a few versions of Christmas ornaments… one year silver and blue and purple… another year there were red balls too…

this year I used silver, blue and purple and included some framed pictures of family and friends…

kind of enjoy thinking up new ways to fill it…

and it looks lovely… now to figure out the rest of the Christmas decorations…

this year I am hoping to do some serious decluttering of excess decorations… not that I have too many, lol…

a while ago I discovered a new chocolatier in Winnipeg – Amanda Green of Melt Chocolate Co…

I messaged her and ordered some of her bonbons and she delivered them;-)… wow…

they are quite lovely to look at…

and very tasty… shared some with my BS group on Monday and everyone enjoyed them…

happy they could assist in the eating as I might have eaten every one…

think I will be purchasing some more, lol…

have had a few conversations recently with individuals who are going through some big struggles…

some are missing loved ones… seems like November can be an especially difficult month… maybe it is the cold and dark… for me it has to do with family birthdays and colder weather…

some are going through family trauma… could be issues with children or partners or parents…

some are dealing with difficulties at work… too much, not enough…

lots going on for many… need to spend a bit of time sending love and healing thoughts their way…

but happy to have had the moments to connect with these special individuals…

today I managed my food exceptionally well, so had a bowl of popcorn and a Kind bar tonight…

I’m now popping the popcorn in a glass measuring bowl and using a silicone cover… still trying to get just the right number of kernels into the bowl before putting it into the microwave…

lovely treat…
