it was certainly worthwhile to get up at 3:15 am on Tuesday morning…
short track speed skating was on… after I watched the 1000 metre men’s qualifying heats, the mixed team relays were on…
and we got a silver medal;-)…
I’ve been enjoying my attempts to get half-decent photos… those athletes are all very quick, lol…

Fleurs de Villes WONDER… what a delight;-)…
since January 15th I have done three volunteer shifts, visited four times with friends, and once on my own…
every time I went through the displays, I spotted more interesting details;-)…
we are so blessed to be one of the locations that Fleurs de Villes chooses to display at…
each year has been different than the previous one… it is also such a great opportunity for our truly talented Manitoba artists…
it was interesting to hear what visitors enjoyed the most on their visits, and how many felt it was nearly impossible to pick a favourite, as they were all special…
hope that we get the opportunity again next year…
I felt connected to three pieces immediately and by the end of my eight visits, I had voted for all of the three…
truly a gift;-)…

so the other day, as I was sitting in the living room, I spotted a drone lift off from a car which stopped in the lane across the way…
it flew right over the house and didn’t return to the car for at least fifteen minutes…
I’m guessing it was doing some shots for a real estate video…
I couldn’t catch it on video but got a few photos of it coming down to land on the top of the vehicle…
I drew circles around it, lol… the brush behind it certainly didn’t help make it visible…

spent time this morning at Fleurs de Villes, at The Leaf, with my adventure buddy;-)…
what a treat…
each display had many gorgeous flowers and lots of very interesting details… it was hard to decide which one I liked the most…
so many orchids caught my attention;-)…
decisions, decisions;-)…
then we headed to Myer’s Delicatessen for lunch… yum, our first visit, and we look forward to another…

while I was at The Leaf the other day, I got some great photos of various bulbs…
the amaryllis were beautiful and there were lots of them;-)…
I also spotted a variety I had not seen before…
and then I found this lovely white hyacinth;-)…
wasn’t able to smell it, lol…
I expect that they will all be gone the next time I visit…

I was a bit shocked when looking at the photographs that I’d taken this morning…
I had taken a few nice pictures of one of the fancy begonias that had come in from outside, which had surprised me with a lovely flower…
and when looking at the picture of the flower, I discovered a spider, yikes…
wonder if it is still there😱…

this magnolia seems to be blooming one or two buds at a time…
saw some beautiful trees filled with magnolia blooms in Courtenay, BC, more than fifteen years ago and I still remember how amazing the scent was…
unfortunately, this tree is too high up to be able to enjoy the scent, but it is lovely to spot new blooms…

fun with morning glories today…
as I was taking photos of this blue morning glory, a cute little western honey bee showed up looking for a snack…
happily, I got a few nice pics…
then, later in the day, the morning glories shrivelled up into themselves in a very interesting way, so took a few cool photos…
