watched the Remembrance Day service from Ottawa this morning and spent some time thinking of my parents and my beloved’s father who were all in the services, and my son-in-law who is currently in the Air Force…

brought home my flowers from the office yesterday and have been enjoying them all day…

had some fun taking pictures this afternoon…

as the day has progressed my stomach has become more and more unhappy… 

really, back and stomach… enough…

hoping for a better day tomorrow…

did something to my back yesterday morning… no idea what… have felt slightly off for a week or so… maybe this is my body’s way of dealing with not feeling well…

by the end of the day it was difficult to move… had the seat on the highest level of heat as I drove home to see if that would help… felt lovely…

lay down as soon as I got in and decided to order supper because I just couldn’t imagine making it…

first time since starting with ChefsPlate that I’ve ordered from SkiptheDishes… I usually enjoy experimenting with making the meals…

enjoyed half of the fish and chips and then went to bed…

during the day getting up after sitting for a while and starting to walk is always the most difficult… still sore today but I have worked through… 

had the remainder of the fish and chips and am planning to climb into bed and sleep in tomorrow…

got a beautiful bouquet today…

flowers make me happy;-)… a lovely treat and I spent some time admiring them…

they kind of matched the sunrise today…

been lots of pinks and reds in the sky over the last while…

the weather was amazing and we ate our lunch in the Millennium Library Park… lots of folks walking through, but we were the only ones having lunch… the sun was warm on our backs, but when the wind blew it was a bit cool, lol…

quite remarkable to be outside eating lunch on November 9…

this morning the sky was lovely and light as I drove to work… stopped and took this picture through the car window…

I took this shot at 5:11 on my way home, and it was already getting dark… the sky had a pink cast to it…

and the trees were already lit…

as I was heading upstairs for a nap, I spotted the red colour out the window so took a few pictures and ran downstairs to get some from outside the front door…

sun came up early even though the time turned back an hour…

much of the technology in my house changes by itself… even the bedside clock…

still have to change the microwave and my watch…

no problem with the microwave… 

the watch, on the other hand, was a big problem… tried everything… even going online looking for a manual, but no luck…

it is the correct time now… because my son-in-law stopped by on his way home from work… he showed me what he did… we’ll see if I can remember next time it changes, lol… 

he also changed the timers on the various lights so they come on at the right time…

all set…

what a glorious day… watched tv and tidied the house during the morning…

enjoyed some excellent meals…

had a lovely wander around the garden and got some great shots of the flowers in the sunshine… it got up to 17 this afternoon… amazing…

the alyssum are still blooming like crazy and so happy… I cannot pull them…

the lobelia, creeping bellflower and jolly jump-ups were all showing off their purpleness… 

then I read and listened to music all afternoon…

just what I needed after my busy week…

been a long week and I am very happy it is done…

after a nap I made Butter Basted Salmon with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Braised Collard Greens…

tasty… but I’ve decided collard greens aren’t my favourite, lol…

I like the fact that I have another meal prepared once I’ve cooked the dinner…

maybe lunch tomorrow…

my orchid is quite beautiful but I don’t think it is going to last like the other one did… it has already lost a few blossoms…

the last few days there’ve been lots of opportunities to deal with technology… some of it new, some of it old…

mostly I find it energizing, but sometimes it can be a bit draining…

at one point today I fixed something completely by accident and it made a huge difference…

at a different point I missed hearing some important information because I was trying to do too many things at once…

not sure whether to shout with excitement or cry with frustration, lol…

so instead of either of those I took some pictures of my new orchid…

and had a giggle about an incident yesterday…

heard what sounded like a cat yowling and wondered if it was a baby out in the main entrance of the building… curious, I went to our door and looked out to see this…

a huge cat, on a leash, tied up to a bicycle… too funny…

spent last night with my amazing friends… to celebrate a birthday we went to De Luca’s Cooking School for dinner… we were lucky to have the birthday woman’s sister with us as well…

the demonstrations of the various courses by Chef Anna Paganelli were wonderful and the commercials by Tony De Luca were informative and funny…

we received all of the recipes and had them to follow along with during the preparation phase of each course…

my absolute favourite was the Farfalle with Vodka Porcini Cream Sauce… my oh my, was that ever delicious… 

a lovely treat and we all enjoyed it… might need to get a small bottle of vodka so I can make this… although whether it would taste as good is a question, lol…

tonight I made Tempeh Tikka Masala with heirloom carrots, whole wheat couscous and curry dressing… I am really enjoying the process of preparing the recipes from the ChefsPlate boxes…

first time I’ve had tempeh… still a bit unsure about how I feel about it but want to try it again…

my company tonight was this little ladybug…

happy to try new things… makes for special moments… and I continue to embrace those moments… hope you are able to as well…
