so happy that the morning glories were saved…

while I was away my grandson came by a few times and watered them… they are in small planters so need lots of water…

I’d been waiting for them to flower for weeks and the first bloom only came out the day before I left on vacation…

they are blooming in and amongst the mandevilla which is also blooming like crazy…

flowers sure do make me happy…

over the ten days of vacation our friendly swan moved all about the campsite… we’d move her every now and again and send the photos to my daughter while she was at work… it was a lot of fun…

she started out on the boat, moved to the tube, then on to the roof of the car and finally the top of the trailer, once it was down, lol… it was a lot of fun each day to find the newest spot…

on Sunday she finally made it to the beach… after a short stint in the water, she was deflated bit by bit and stuffed under one of the seats…

looking forward to seeing her out and about again, lol…

final day of our camping trip…

packed up the camper and dropped it in the parking lot by the beach… then we went boating and enjoyed some beach time…

friends came out from the city to spend a few hours on the boat and there was tubing, including someone getting a foot in the face which is going to turn into a black eye, lol…

got the boat out of the water, had our last meal together at the Falcon’s Nest Cafe, hooked up the camper and drove on down the road…

a great time… took a few photos of the various groups that made up the ten days…

my daughter, two younger grandsons, the dog and I… then my son-in-law, grandsons, the dog and I… finally all of us together;-)… this slightly crazy picture as the youngest was putting on his shirt and everyone was talking at the same time was an example of our time together, lol…

long night with very noisy camper neighbours…

had a big breakfast and then packed up for a family birthday party on the beach…

we went from smoky skies with the sun behind the haze to it peeking out through clouds…

the afternoon was filled with eating, tubing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding, visiting and tanning…

today my daughter and son-in-law had fun on the wakeboard… my son-in-law also played on the kneeboard while my daughter drove the boat… he doesn’t get to do this often, but he still puts everyone else to shame with his skills, lol…

back to the campsite for steak and shrimp dinner and then a fire with lots of family guests…

many of these folks have camped in this area for thirty years… when they move around the campground they often come across others they have camped with when they were young…

sadly I woke up with a headache which stayed through the whole day… up around eight and relaxed around the campsite… the sun looked cool through the trees and I got a few neat shots of lichen on a branch… saw quite a few geese today when we were down by the water…

then we were off fishing… the boys had great success… my son-in-law caught a 39 inch Jack, just shy of a Master…

after lunch all the boys went to the beach while I tried to sleep off my headache… didn’t work, but I had a nap…

got ready for supper and my daughter arrived from the city… hot dogs and smokies on the fire, clean up and off for an evening ride on the boat…

fun to see how different the cottages look all lit up…

such odd weather today… cool when we first got up but it was fairly warm and sunny as we left the channel…

then the sky turned gray and it cooled off while we were fishing… we docked the boat to go back to the campsite for lunch and then headed out again…

we saw loons, a parent and child, I think and many, many seagulls… no eagles or turtles…

we spent about six hours on the water fishing… some of us caught nothing…

but we still had lots of fun…

such a busy day…

up by seven, had a fire to warm up, ate breakfast and headed out to fish…

saw turtles swimming, eagles flying, loons fishing and even a deer grazing… at one point four eagles were circling overhead…

fish were caught and one of the Jack fish was 31″ long…

in for lunch and then we spent the afternoon tubing on our new 3 person BodyGlove with a bit of kneeboarding thrown in for good measure…

we had some friends with us and the mom and I took a turn on the tube… and I am still alive to tell the story, lol…

back to the campsite for burgers, a quick visit to the Marina looking for lures and now the dog and I are back at the camper while the boys have gone to play bingo…

going to sleep well tonight…

I was up a bit late and all the boys slept in… we eventually had a wonderful breakfast around eleven… it was cooked on the propane stove and the campfire…

there was intermittent rain until around one at which time we headed out in the boat to fish, with a cooler filled with snacks… it was cool so there was no swimming or tubing in the plans…

we spent four and a half hours on the water… it was glorious… we caught four fish in total – my son-in-law caught two, I brought in one, and the older grandson got one… all Jack fish so we had to throw them back, lol… everyone enjoyed themselves…

the sun danced in and out of the clouds and we spotted loons, ducks, maybe a few muskrats and many seagulls…

when we returned to the boat launch the older grandson brought the boat up onto the trailer, which involves a lot of cranking, lol…

once we were back at the campsite we had supper and sat around the campfire roasting marshmallows for s’mores…

last night we spent about an hour laying in the boat watching the Perseid Meteor shower… the boys gave up and went to bed after about an hour, but I watched for nearly three hours… some of them were amazing…

this morning the boys got up around 9:30, had cereal for breakfast, packed up snacks and then we headed over to the beach…

only the second time I’ve been in the water since Friday, lol… very refreshing…

back to the camper for lunch of peanut butter and raspberry jam sandwiches…

a relaxing afternoon of playing at the park and sitting around the campsite… much cooler than yesterday, which was a relief…

the daddy arrived and brought fresh supplies and we sat and read for a while… had a great supper of chicken, cooked cauliflower, gravy, raw cucumbers and carrots…

it rained for a few minutes as we did the dishes, but now we have a roaring fire going…

today we were able to sleep in… lovely…

I was up fairly early and had tea outside as I was waiting for the crew to wake up…

eventually we had pancakes – regular for the boys and potato for us… along with some breakfast sausages…

a few jobs around the site and everyone else went to the beach…

I read and napped while they were gone… once they were back we walked around the campground checking out the various sites and then went for ice cream…

we had supper together and then my daughter headed back to the city…

we have prepared a little nest in the boat and are hoping to watch the meteor shower, if we can stay awake…
