so, about the snow…
it came down again today…
it started about 4 pm and was still coming down after 7…

really, enough…

up at 3:15 am…
the last of the luggage was at the front door and a quick breakfast was eaten…

in the car by 4:05… dropped her at the airport and drove by the new Western Aviation Museum on my way home… it looked really cool, even at 4:30 in the morning, lol…
back to bed and up at 8:30… texted with her as she waited in Toronto for her connecting flight…
then I returned the den back to normal…

gathered up towels and sheets and ran a load of laundry…
the house feels a little empty and there was no one to make lunch for😢…
I am already thinking about the next time we can get together in person, although we chat nearly everyday…
it was a wonderful visit and I enjoyed each and every minute…
I truly am blessed…

laundry was done and bags were packed…

a favourite meal was ordered and enjoyed…

we visited, napped, and ate chocolate…

things are lined up at the door for the very early morning trip to the airport…
it was a wonderful time and I enjoyed every single minute;-)…

we’ve been out in the hot tub every night since my daughter arrived for this short vacation… I have been enjoying the company…

it has been great as I hadn’t been in it for quite a while… the deep snow had kept me from opening it up…
today has been quiet as she headed out to visit with friends and is spending the night away…

I must say that time in the hot tub before bed really improves my sleep, so I am going to go out on my own tonight, lol…

it is my normal pattern to look out the bedroom window when I get up to check the weather and see if the snow has melted, or more has fallen, or whether the sun is shining, lol…
this morning I was surprised when I looked out and spotted Indi… she is home for a few days so that we have transportation while the guest is still here and because of all the snow there wasn’t room to go into the garage…

there were also treats… I received this lovely Monet bookmark from Paris which matches the sweet tray I was given the other day;-)… I put it right into the book I was reading…

and a bit later in the day this ice cream cone arrived… yum, haven’t had one since my booster shot…
we ended the day working on the puzzle I ordered quite some time ago – which I hadn’t been able to connect the edge pieces, so I had packed it up and put it away in disgust…

in about an hour the border was done… hmmm, what a difference a little help makes;-)…
every minute has been delightful…

another good day with my guest…
started it off with a smoothie, cashews, tea and the last of my Calgary bonbons…

had a hot tub and put chairs on the deck in anticipation of warmer weather and more melting snow…
got a new external drive hooked up remotely, and the various computers networked, thanks to my computer geek in Ottawa…
had a bit of a rest while my guest was out for a few hours with a friend…
and then we had dinner with the oldest grandson…

it was delicious…
on our way out for an end of day hot tub;-)…

it has been two and a half years since I last saw this girl in person…

and something like four years since she’s been home…
I am delighted and look forward to making the most of these next few days…
so far, we’ve eaten chocolate and macarons and I got the cutest tray from Paris with Monet’s NYMPHEAS (water lilies)… it was a lovely reminder of a wonderful visit the two of us had to a museum in New York…

more lazy days, tons of conversation, favourite foods, and walks outside are on the agenda;-)…

what a wonderful treat this is…

tossed all of the old flowers out today and reorganized a few pots…

moved one of the violets into the lovely head vase from my New Year’s Day bouquet…
and spotted some new blossoms…

that was a lovely treat…

house is tidy and ready for company;-)…

the snow has been melting slowly and quickly, if that makes any sense…
when I look at pictures from a week ago and today it is more visible, so I can see how much has melted…

I went out and shovelled a bit to clear the sidewalks and some of the driveway…

there is still a lot to melt…

spent time watching Track and Field this weekend and it brought back memories of time with my dad…

he was an excellent athlete in his youth and we often attended track meets at the old Arena to watch and enjoy the skill of those participating…
for much of my life he was ill and unable to do most physical things, but in my early teens we had fun watching other athletes…
he was the one who taught me to appreciate every person’s performance… it didn’t matter who they were, a good performance was always applauded…
I wonder if it was partly due to the fact that he appreciated anyone who could still perform…
he was the same with people… every single person he met had great value…
some precious lessons…
