well, the weather has not been particularly cooperative, sigh…

it was a bit overcast when we first got up but we decided to head out as it wasn’t raining…. kept the cover half on so we’d be ready if the rain came, lol…

saw a loon as we were leaving the bay… caught a few fish… sadly, not me… also saw a three-foot sturgeon swim beside us;-)…

spent about four hours on the water before it started to spit… the scenery is beautiful

came back to the campsite and had a picnic under the canopy…

then there were naps and more games… supper was tacos in a bag… perfect easy prep on a rainy evening…

back inside for the evening… some are watching a movie on a phone and others playing games…

wishing for sunshine tomorrow;-)…

another day has gone by…

up early-ish so that we could get in some fishing before the rain was supposed to arrive…

I sat patiently waiting for pickerel… sadly they didn’t want to play with me today…

the boys swam and there was some fancy kneeboarding…

we had an adventure going through a narrow section of the lake and found a new fishing spot with friends, but it was fairly windy so not much success… I did get to watch an eagle dive and rise up with a fish…

we headed back across the lake and while we were sitting out on the water the skies opened up… amazing how quickly the boys were able to get the cover on the boat and all fastened down… and of course, that is when the rain stopped, lol…

sky was looking mighty fierce though and when the thunder and lightning started up we headed for home…

poured for quite a while so there was reading and napping and phone games and board games in the camper…

rain stopped and we made a lovely dinner of bbq steak with baked potatoes, fried mushrooms and salad…

cleaned everything up and now one has gone fishing off the rocks with a friend, and the other two have gone to visit another site…

I am quietly drinking tea and reading… how lovely;-)…

had such fun today…

the boys picked me up around ten and we headed out to Nutimik Lake… the trailer is in Blueberry Hill Campground, which is one of the seasonal sites…

we unpacked in a flash, and got the boat ready and into the water… I adore being on the boat, and enjoy every single moment…

we fished… a lot… but only the daddy caught anything – a single Jack…

we snacked, the boys swam, saw eagles and pelicans, of which I got a few shots…

there was swimming and kneeboarding…

the family get the boat into and out of the water like pros… I even got to practice my driving for a few minutes…

back to the campsite for a short rest and then supper… hot dogs over the fire, with homemade potato salad;-)…

great start to our time here…

this morning, Hilda, the gardener, came over and worked away in the back while I continued gathering items for the camping trip…

before she started, we spent some time walking the area and deciding on what needed to happen where and when…

she weeded, divided and moved hostas, and trimmed the lilac…

looking good

last week I had a pedicure and as I stepped into the car, I scuffed my big toe… didn’t have time to go back and get it fixed, until this morning…

seemed like my lucky day… when I arrived at the clinic for my blood work, there wasn’t a single person there… got in right away… and after I left there, I called to see if they could fix my toe and I got in there right away and they didn’t charge anything;-)…

from there it was off to Costco for items for my camping trip with the boys… I seemed to find lots of treats, lol…

after lunch and a nap I made a big bowl of potato salad to take…

and, to top off the day, I ordered dinner from Clay Oven, via SkipTheDishes…

after all, it was the first day of my vacation;-)…

the rain is gently falling now… which is wonderful because it has been very dry for weeks…

but this morning it was lovely out and I spent some quality time in the garden taking pictures of flowers…

spending time in the garden is rejuvenating for me… there is something so serene and peaceful in this space…

it reminds me of so many wonderful activities we’ve celebrated in this space…

here are a few pictures from this morning… I hope you enjoy seeing them, as much as I did taking them…

well, what a pleasant surprise…

the cleaners came today… they usually come on the first Monday of the month and I expected they wouldn’t be here until next week as yesterday was a holiday…

luckily, I tidied up this morning before I left for work…

the house just feels better when I walk in and I know right away that they’ve been…

I always giggle when they rearrange the cushions, lol…

I am so blessed

my grandson and I went out for sushi and then we picked up some goldfish and shubunkins for the pond, and a few more pond plants…

the crazy thing is that the Manitoba government has banned floating water hyacinth and water lettuce after deciding they are invasive plants… and in the Amazon and southern USA, they are… but here they cannot survive the winter, even in the house… very frustrating as these plants really provide protection for baby fish in the pond… and help with slowing algae growth, sigh…

anyway, we put a few water lilies in and some parrot feather so hopefully the little fish will use those and be safe from the big fish until they grow a bit more;-)…

once he got all the fish into the pond, he worked to make sure the plants won’t fall over and the pots aren’t visible…

looks great and I think the fish are happy

really enjoy spending time with him…

had a spur-of-the-moment walk and breakfast with a friend…

she texted me early to see if I wanted to go for a wander through the English and Leo Mol Gardens… of course I did;-)…

threw on my clothes, walked over and met her at the Park…

we had a lovely visit as we circled the Gardens being careful not to get sprinkled on as many sections and paths were getting misted, lol…

from there we moved over to the Park Cafe for a great breakfast…

and then we enjoyed a little retail therapy…

lovely treat to start the day…
