enjoyed a lovely morning… got my hair purpled and then went to a garden centre where I had way too much fun…

20140531-214157-78117930.jpgwas forced to stop shopping when I ran out of room in the cart… but I did get a beautiful water hyacinth and a lovely water lily for the pond…

20140531-214401-78241437.jpgunfortunately I worked on one of the ponds in the garden and spent a bit too much time in the sun… may have a touch of sunstroke as I’ve been feeling sick for the rest of the day…

spring planting makes me happy, but it also makes me miss my beloved…

this morning I got a wonderful surprise when my son-in-law sent me this picture…

20140530-215051-78651691.jpghe had come over and built this shelf for my cushions… I am very happy to be able to access them… they used to be on the other side of the garage, which worked fine because George always had the car out in the driveway so he could tinker in there… I, as it happens, don’t do tinkering, lol…

worked great tonight when I sat outside for a couple of hours… the waterfall is back on, although I am not thrilled with the water flow, but I will watch it for a few days to see if it improves…

was able to make it to a soccer game tonight and got this great shot of the sky…

the uv filter is in, almost…

spent a couple of hours this morning at a QNET conference… the topic was Cultivating Corporate Culture and the speaker we heard was Ron McMillan…

20140528-230442-83082958.jpgI really enjoyed Ron’s presentation… many stories interspersed with statistics and I really appreciated how he walked throughout the entire space while he was speaking…

reminded me of a fabulous conference I attended a number of years ago where the speaker podium was clear, and turned during the presentation so that everyone had an opportunity to view the speaker…

the main take away for me was to encourage others to speak up and remember to do it myself in all of life’s situations…

looking forward to reading his book Crucial Conversations…

last year the pond had some serious algae growing in it…

the landscaper who built the pond was here late in the fall and suggested a uv filter to deal with the problem…

so, I’ve been doing some research and calling various places to find one…

I thought it just got tossed into the pond and did its thing, but not so…

I spoke with one of the owners of Pet Traders and he came out to see if the filter he had would work…

then I had to be in touch with the pond folk to be sure they thought it would work too…

finally everyone agreed and I purchased the filter and it is going to be installed tomorrow…

on the weekend I bought some bowls, and containers for organizing…

the bowls were too big to fit in the space I had planned, so I had to reorganize the whole cupboard so that they could fit… of course, once you move one thing, you end up moving everything…

20140526-215409-78849856.jpgeventually I got that sorted out and then moved on to the bathroom… only bought one of each of the containers because I wanted to be sure they would work… had I picked up two or three of each they wouldn’t have, lol…

always so happy when some organizing has taken place…

Friday night was supposed to be a great night for the Camelopardalid meteor shower…

it was clear, so I set my alarm to get up at 1:30 am… best time here was supposed to be from 1 to 3…

took a blanket and pillow out and saw one shooting star as I was setting up my spot…

stayed out there for an hour or so without seeing anything… the weather was beautiful and warm so it was cozy…

eventually I decided to have a hot tub, which was lovely, and then went back to bed…

tonight as I was working on this post I found this from the torontosun.com – Not many people got to see the Camelopardalid meteor shower. It was that estimated more than 200 meteors per hour were expected to drop. Unfortunately, only a few meteors spotted during that two-hour time period of the storm.

this morning I got up to a beautiful day…

it was warm and the sun was shining…

had to take out the garbage and recycling and then took a few minutes to walk around the garden…

the fish were swimming around and the garden looked great…

what a wonderful way to start the day…

sometimes I can forget how special life is and take the time to enjoy it…

later in the day I enjoyed each moment of our yoga class and then spent a wonderful few moments with a colleague as we took five minutes to walk around the outside of the building…

life is very good…

tonight I went to aquasize for the first time in ages…

was a bit worried whether I would make it through the class without becoming exhausted, but made it through no problem…

reminded me of yoga… just last week I was realizing how much better I have become… we did a pose that a year ago I was only able to hold for a few seconds and I can now do it as long as everyone else… sometimes you don’t realize how you are improving…

was great to spend some time with my friend as well… we are hoping to get back to a regular schedule when she is in the city…

happily we got to go out for pho after swimming… I was very happy about this as I hadn’t organized anything for my supper…
