had a bit of fun with my purple heart wreath and some faux autumn coloured leaves…

not exactly a heart shape or a circle, but it looks fine;-)…

my hair went from being fine… to unmanageable, in what felt like a minute, about last Wednesday… I nearly tried out the freshly sharpened scissors, but managed to hold off until this morning when I walked over to Ultracuts to get it dealt with… had to wait for a bit, so went for a walk, rather than sit inside…
the weather was nice, particularly as it was supposed to rain all day…
along the way I spotted some murals and got a nice shot of this one…

pleased with the cut…

on the way home I passed a person and said good morning… it wasn’t until I was a few steps past them that I realized it was one of my neighbours…

I laughed as I thought of how my beloved would have responded… he would have turned back, called out their name, and had a half hour conversation…
I just kept walking, lol…

spent time in the garden doing cleanup…
emptied soil from pots and stacked them in the shed…
repotted some pansies to bring inside, brought the butterfly bush into the basement and the hibiscus into the dining room…

after closing up the shed, I undid the bathtub pond pump and brought it inside to clean and put in the basement…

spent some time in the garden repotting a few plants to come into the house…
this silver falls had been in a pot hanging on the side of the house and was so pretty I thought I’d give it a try in the house…

I separated a couple of plants and put them in a slightly smaller pot…
finally, I brought in some of the floating pond plants…

it will be interesting to see how they all manage…

was talking with someone recently and making tea at the same time…

as I was squeezing the teabag, they mentioned hearing that doing this bruised the tea, which was a bad thing…
made me laugh as I’ve done it forever to get any additional flavour out of the bag before discarding it…

made a hot breakfast, cause it felt like that kind of day, and then gathered the ingredients to prepare ham, cabbage and potatoes…

this would give it time to cook and then cool before heating it up for supper…
while that was cooking, I finished shredding the rest of the cabbage, a bit of green onion, and some carrot… I added the last of the dressing I had in the cupboard and finished that recipe…

finally, I cut and scooped three ripe avocados into containers to go into the freezer for smoothies…
yesterday I prepared zucchini basil soup…
feels a bit like I am getting ready for hibernation…

spent time in the living and dining rooms reorganizing the plants…

took the orchids out of the new fish tank, trimmed, and found other places for them to go…
gave up the winerack and now have a spot for the fuchsia from outside to come to…
found a pump that might work in the tank, which is going to be used to house pond plants…

I’ve tried to overwinter water hyacinth before without success, but am going to try once again… also hoping that the two floating baskets will make it as well;-)… some of the water lilies will go into the tanks with the fish, but may put one in this tank if there is room…

got fresh sourdough bread recently, so decided on toast with peanut butter for breakfast… this is a treat as bread isn’t on the menu very often…

brought down my left-handed cutting board and it reminded me of fun times at Hillside Beach many, many, years ago…
I love how it cuts the bread to the exact size required for the toaster… and then the knife slides into the tray…

we picked this up at one of the Victoria Beach Country Markets and it has cut many loaves of Village Green Bakery bread, lol…
lovely memories…

over the last week or so I’ve been making sure to have a hot tub each night…
I find that the quiet time in the water clears my mind and makes sleep come easier, last longer, and be more restful…

getting back into a habit is always a bit of a process, lol…

last year I removed the drawers and took a file cabinet outside to become a raised garden planter… it has worked very well…
the drawers, which were filled with my beloved’s stuff, have been stacked on a table in the basement since then…
finally I set up a box for giveaway, one for things to keep, a recycling bin, and a garbage bag…
worked away for a few hours and was able to move items into the various options without a problem…
the drawers went to the back lane, and someone collected them for scrap;-)…

makes me happy to have been able to declutter…
