been working on nametags for an event I volunteer for occasionally… off and on over the last week I’ve designed, prepared a list, merged it, printed, separated and stuffed them…

it has reminded me of the first year at my current position when I would agonize over preparing nametags for any events we did… for the longest time I would lose every seventh name on a list… then the printer and I would fight over the printing process… eventually I would come out on top, but only after numerous trips to the printer and a lot of stress…

since then I have refined the process of making nametags and enjoy the various steps, which is particularly handy as I make them all the time…

no matter what, it still takes a good bit of time and energy to get a set ready, lol…

happy the job is done…

so happy to see the Japanese Maple budding out with new leaves…

for a little while there I was thinking that it was really done…

this maple has travelled from Vancouver Island across the prairies in the back seat of a car, which makes it special… sometimes I have been a bit slow to bring it into the house in the Fall… thought for a short time I’d really messed up…

so I was very happy to see those leaves…

Spring really is coming…

two lovely signs of Spring today…

early this morning I was taking out the garbage and recycling… hadn’t been able to open the garbage container for a few weeks as it had frozen shut… happily it melted enough that I could finally open and fill it up…

as I was putting them out my neighbour came by and we had a short visit… it was warm enough for us to have a chat… he offered to bring them in once they were emptied… nice to connect with neighbours as the season improves…

and I was so excited later in the day when my BestCanvas picture arrived… it is a beautiful shot I’d taken at the Park of a lilac blossom and it looks amazing…

I’ve printed many of my photos and have a wall of my water lily shots, but it was rather energizing to have something on canvas… I feel like an artist, lol…

lilacs are one of my favourite flowers and another sign of Spring…

now, if the snow would stop coming, and the sun stay out longer, it really would be Spring…

bought a bouquet on March 5th…

yesterday I tossed out some of the spent flowers and rearranged it…

amazing how long they have lasted and how good they still look…

on Friday I picked up this orchid…

left it in the plastic over the weekend to carry it to the office…

and here it is in its new home…

haven’t had an orchid for ages… they always remind me of my beloved… he brought them home for me all the time…

flowers sure do improve my days;-)…

flowers, flowers, everywhere…

had roses delivered to the office this morning for the staff members who were away on Valentine’s Day… had to laugh because they were nicer than the ones we had… these ones came with greenery and glitter, lol…

and shortly after that our Manitoba Lung Association fundraiser tulips were delivered… the office was filled with beauty…

every day the sky is filled with light which lasts longer and is brighter, and to have flowers on top of that just makes me happy…

had a lovely time wandering around the office and taking pictures of the various roses…

I can’t explain how much joy I get from having flowers around…

seeing them wherever I turned brought a smile to my face…

between the roses and the fact that the daylight is getting longer every day my spirits have certainly been lifted…

now if only the temperature would start to rise in a steady manner…

winter is often a down season for me… I really miss the light…

George always made sure I had lots of flowers throughout these darker months…

yesterday I was at the grocery store and bought flowers to brighten my space…

they will be in the living room and the bedroom at home and on my desk at work…

also noticing that the days are getting longer…

I already feel happier…

got up at six am as I was heading into the office early with a colleague as we were carpooling…

hadn’t planned to get up early to watch the eclipse because it was supposed to be overcast…

when I looked out the window I was so excited to actually see the moon in the midst of the eclipse…

got out my camera and tripod and took a few pictures…

between taking photos and making my lunch I sat and watched the beautiful display out my front window…

what a glorious start to the day…

no spectacular shots but I did have lots of fun…

today I got an email from MyFitnessPal congratulating me on six years of using the app… I started using this one not too long after I started using my first Fitbit…

it is the place where I keep track of my calorie intake… it took a while to figure out how to get the most value from it…

today I also picked up flowers… they make me feel happy and in these darker and busy days put a smile on my face…

and when I got home and walked into the house it smelled wonderful as both of the hyacinth flowers were blooming…

what a treat…
