yesterday morning I had a bit of fun taking pictures of the sun rising in the sky…
this is what it looked like at 7:24 as the sun was just peeking out through the trees…
then this as 7:49…
this was the last of the series that I took, at 9:09…
so beautiful and such a change when you look out the window at different times…
it was out for most of the day and even though it was cold and windy it felt great…
that bit of extra light and bright sky makes such a difference in my mood…

for the last few days I’ve been noticing how much light there is in the morning and into the evening…
just yesterday I went down to the basement without needing to turn on a light…
got this lovely shot of the moon when I arrived at the office…
and at the end of the day I caught this beautiful sunset…
been thinking about how time goes by so quickly and how important it is to let go of the negative and focus on the light…
continue to work toward focussing on the good… and not letting myself get stuck in the negative…

been in conversation with a number of people recently over the fact that it is lighter every day… although it is very cold today and has been for a few days everyone is chirpier and seems to have lighter steps…
took a picture as I was leaving the house before eight this morning…
look at that daylight…
ran across to the drugstore and the individuals I passed on the street seemed in better humour as well…
it was overcast for most of the day, but my mood is so much happier with just this little bit of extra light…

slept in and lazed around all morning…
went to PTE and enjoyed a great play…
started with a drink and ate chocolate during the play… pretty fine way to spend an afternoon…
enjoyed some people watching and was amazed at the different ways people wear purple in their hair… not always to my taste, lol…
caught a few Pokémon and many poke balls while I was out and on the way home walked down the street searching for a few more…
even at 5:15 the light was lovely as I got close to the house… so wonderful to see more daylight every day…
already feeling more positive as the days get brighter…

lovely sunrise this morning…
felt cold last night so decided on a hot tub around ten…
headed out only to discover that the strap was frozen to the side of the hot tub… which meant the lid wouldn’t open…
back into the house to find the little hammer, turn on the outside light and then out again to bash the ice…
took a bit of energy to clear the ice away and then I had to take the hammer back in and turn out the light…
finally got the lid open and made it into the tub…
beautiful and toasty warm…
might have had a short nap…
worked rather hard for that hot tub, but I slept really well after that…

it seemed lighter as I drove home today… wondering if it is due to the fact that the sun has actually been out, lol…
the solar lights in the garden were shining under the snow tonight… always pretty and makes me smile every time I see them…
to top off all the cool things, received a Christmas card and two gift cards in the mail…

this morning the sky was lovely and light as I drove to work… stopped and took this picture through the car window…
I took this shot at 5:11 on my way home, and it was already getting dark… the sky had a pink cast to it…
and the trees were already lit…
as I was heading upstairs for a nap, I spotted the red colour out the window so took a few pictures and ran downstairs to get some from outside the front door…
beautiful moments to savour…

for the last few weeks I have been feeling down…
missing my beloved a lot… usually when I am struggling with missing him I can spot the triggers… a date… a particular activity…
can’t put my finger on anything in particular right now… and I think that makes it worse…
this morning it was dark when I left for work… and when I checked online it showed the sun rose at 8:09 am and set at 6:15 pm…
so it really is getting darker all the time, sigh… light affects me a lot, or lack of it…
and of course the overcast skies and rain don’t help much either…
find that I sleep more as it gets darker… maybe I want to hibernate, lol…
have been taking vitamin D for the last few weeks and think I need to start using my SAD light on a regular basis…

had a lovely few minutes when I got home… walked into the living room to put away my purse…
the light was shining into the room and I went and got my phone so that I could take some pictures…
spent a wonderful few minutes taking shots of the various flowers in the light…
the sunlight was gorgeous as it streamed into the space…
the mandevilla is struggling with being in the house and the buds are opening in a very strange fashion…
love this picture of the new orchid with some of the blossoms in the light and some in shadow…
on Sunday my son-in-law adjusted my timers so they would come on a bit earlier… it has been great to come downstairs in the morning and have it light… but tonight it was dark…
apparently one of the bulbs is burnt out… not sure I have a replacement… guess I’ll be sorting that out, lol…

the lack of light and sunshine drags me down…
when I got home tonight I was exhausted and had a nap before even thinking about dinner…
when I woke up I made sesame tofu banh mi with enoki mushrooms, pickled vegetables and sweet soy glaze…
it was the final meal from last week’s ChefsPlate box… good thing because this week’s box arrives tomorrow, lol…
opening the bag is a bit like Christmas and the excitement starts to build as each piece comes out…
reading the directions and following the steps in order is fun and gave me energy…
it turned out very tasty… although a little spicy… might not put all the chili peppers in the next one…
and the great news is that tomorrow’s lunch is all ready;-)…
