last night a friend called and suggested I check out the moon…
it was a sliver in the sky with a very bright Venus above it…
I dug out the tripod, which was deep in a closet, and headed to the front step… even though it was cold, I took a few minutes and got some good photos…
so happy to have received that call;-)…

found some red ribbon and rehung the swag at the front door…
a piece of the fishing line had already broken so I was just in time…
instead of cutting the ribbon, I made a cute little bow for the inside of the door…
I think this will work nicely;-)…

recently I went outside and shovelled off the back deck…
a ton of snow had drifted there when we had that big snow a while back…
quite a bit of it had melted, but there was still a thick covering over most of the deck…
as I shovelled I came across a number of peanuts in the shell which had been left by the squirrels… I hope they won’t be too disappointed when they go looking for them, lol…

last week I put lights around the front windows…
it has been an interesting process as I used duct tape… sadly I’ve had to continuously press the tape back on as it doesn’t really want to stick…
anyway, after I finished I wanted some pictures so I put on my jacket, but left my slippers on as I was only going to be on the sidewalk…
once the pictures were taken I went to open the door and it wouldn’t… my heart skipped a beat as I stood there – in my slippers…
I tried a few times, but it just would not open… by chance I turned the handle up which was the opposite direction than normal and it opened… whew…
talked to my son-in-law, who suggested WD40, but that didn’t work… had to put a note on the door, lol…
my grandson and I picked up a new handle and he was able to change it without a problem…
a tiny piece of plastic broke off which is what caused the issue…
happy to have it working properly again;-)…

pleased to see that two of the orchids are getting new buds… got some nice pictures of the buds on one, while the other wouldn’t cooperate…
makes me very happy as they seem to be liking their new spot…
as of today, all twelve are in the new garden-erie;-)…

last night I went out for a hot tub… I hadn’t had one for quite a while…
although cold, it was still, quiet, the sky was clear, a few stars were visible and for the first time ever, I watched the moon rise behind the cedar trees at the back of the garden… not sure if it was the time or the place the moon was in the sky…
the light moved from area to area so all I ever saw was a tiny spot through the branches… it was amazing…
and then I had the greatest sleep…
I had forgotten how relaxing my time in the tub is;-)…

as I was walking down the stairs this morning I looked outside and spotted one of my bunny buddies…
I went to get the camera but it was exhausted so there were no closeup pictures…
the bunny sat there for the longest time before eventually leaving… I was happy that it was okay…
there are lots of bunny prints in the garden, lol…

well, the coleus has been transplanted…
there were lots of roots when I checked the glass the slips were in… I went out to the garage and brought in four pots and a pail filled with potting mix…
found a plastic container to use as a saucer and planted the 9 different pieces…
they are now on the dining room table in the light so we will see what happens…
at the same time I planted two ivy slips into a small pot which is going to sit on the bathroom window ledge…
more plants;-)…

had some fun at the dining room window this afternoon… trying to get a photo of the icicles dripping…
not really successful, but got some lovely photos… took a lot… the icicles refused to drip when I wanted them to, lol…
the sky was quite lovely too…

the garden looked so beautiful after the snow on Friday…
of course it always looks beautiful as long as you don’t have to go out into it, lol…
I had taken out the garbage bin on Thursday, even though the pickup day had moved because of Remembrance Day… I didn’t want to struggle with the snow that was coming…
good thing I did that… a lot of snow came down… the pickup ended up being on Saturday, but I didn’t have my grandson bring it in while he was here shovelling…
this morning I went out and shovelled my way to the back gate so I could bring the bin back in…
shovelling was easier and I left the garbage bin just under the cedars so it won’t get too much snow on it… I followed the path that the bunnies had made so that there should be less drifting… except I ended up with my head in the branches…
had a snow hat for a few minutes…
