yesterday morning the sky was lovely…

a quiet day with a few chores around the house…

kids came over for supper and we had barbecued pork chops… tasty…

my daughter made a very nice apple crisp for our dessert…

then we drove over to the Park and did some Pokémon Go hunting… lovely walk in the dark around the Riley Duck Pond and by the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden…

the super moon was so big and beautiful… happy that we had lots of time to admire it because tonight the sky doesn’t have a single visible star in it… lots of others out Pokémoning too…

a large buck ran right past us as we were circling the Pond… amazing…

lots of spectacular views…

this morning I had a memory on Facebook of my youngest grandson, as a baby, swinging in a park close by… there was also a picture of he, his older brother and my beloved on the back deck that same day…

just last Friday, when the boys were here, we talked about swinging in that very park…

today, the kids came downtown, spent a few minutes playing Pokemon Go at the Millennium Library Park, and then picked me up for lunch…

we went for dimsum at Kum Koon Garden, our favourite…

they have a stunning salt water fish tank and my grandson took a few pictures for me…

he had my phone because we share a Pokemon Go account so whenever we’re together he is checking out the game, lol…

the point of this story is how lucky I am to have the opportunity to spend time with my kids and grandkids… and how lucky we both were to be able to make memories with our grandchildren…

misting out this morning when I got up… still had to go outside and add water to the pond…

as I left the driveway I stopped and took a picture of the fountain which we finally got going a few weeks ago…

yesterday it was sunny with a beautiful blue sky as I drove to the office… this was the view today…

the mist turned into outright rain, lol… not nearly so lovely…

picked up an A & W Teenburger for lunch to support the MS Society… wonderful treat and an excellent excuse to have one, lol…

not exactly on my eating plan…

tonight the boys have come over for a sleepover… well, really to play Pokemon Go… after supper we walked to, and around, the Park and caught lots and then had ice cream at Sargent Sundae on our way home…

now there is some hot tubbing going on and then we are off to bed;-)…

gonna sleep well tonight…

maybe, just maybe, I am caught up in the Pokemon Go game…

I have been catching Pokemons from the house for my grandson… apparently there are a few nests around here…

but today I used up the last of the Poke Balls…

my oldest grandson came for dinner and then we went to Bruce Park where there were five PokeStops, which is where one collects the Poke Balls, lol…

we walked around collecting things from them until his bus came…

then I walked around a few more times collecting more before walking home to watch the Olympic Closing Ceremonies…

did take a few pics of the lovely flower beds while I was there…

out and about today…

to the grocery store for veggies and a few other things…

the kids came over for lunch and we made individually designed sandwiches along with chocolate milk, pickles and grapes…

they downloaded Pokemon Go on my phone so my middle grandson had his own device to play on…

we went to the Park and wandered through the English Garden and the Leo Mol Garden where there was a jazz concert…

music aficionados filled the space… there was every kind of portable chair you could think of…

and many Pokemon Go players…

four of whom were from my family…

was impressed how well the two groups coexisted in the space… lots of respect, clapping, and quiet play…

got some great photos at the lily pond…

and a few from the English Garden, where the eagle eyes of the oldest spotted two hummingbirds… what a treat… was able to watch them flit about and land on a branch for a moment before darting off…

this was my favourite shot from the English Garden area…

in the last few days I’ve been to the Gardens three times…

twice I wasn’t able to get to my favourite spot as there were weddings taking place…

but the biggest oddity was the huge number of Pokemon Go hunters who are swarming the area around the tropical lily pond in the Leo Mol Garden…

at one point I counted 36 people sitting on the edge of the pond, and not one of them was looking at the lilies or statues…

did find this a bit sad… such a beautiful place and it seems as though many of those present weren’t even looking…

although there were many of the hunters, it appears that about half of the people today were there to admire the Gardens… I spent a while waiting for my kids by the Boy with the Boot and was happy to see so many visitors who were excited and taking lots of photos as they entered the English Garden area…

my youngest grandson and I were able to spot a few frogs…

and also had some fun checking out the Duck Pond…

he’s at a phase where he doesn’t want his picture taken but he didn’t know I was taking this one, lol…

and then his daddy gave a little assist for this one…

had a few minutes to focus on some beautiful leaves… the colours were amazing…

the purple waterlilies are still my favourite…

happy that my usual time to visit is early in the morning, when the Gardens are quiet and peaceFULL…

today my kids met me at the Millennium Library Park over the lunch hour…

my daughter has given in and downloaded Pokémon Go on her phone so both little boys can help search for Pokémons, PokéStops and gyms… daddy had downloaded the game before we left on our vacation, so they would either take turns or share the phone…

the boys wandered all around the Park and found a PokéStop and two gyms… apparently they fight in the gyms, but the boys tell me they aren’t fighting others… they know how I feel about fighting, so I’m not sure about that…

while we were camping they would go for walks to hatch eggs and searched wherever we were to see if there were any Pokémons in the vicinity… then there would be great excitement as they described what they had caught…

it has been interesting to see how many people are playing and how there seems to be lots of cooperation where one person will suggest to other hunters where to search…

we chatted with many people we wouldn’t normally have spoken to, as it was clear they were also playing the game… appears to be a bit of a family game for our family and it is nice to see them playing it together…

since the first day my oldest grandson showed me the game, with great excitement in his eyes, I have been interested in how it has entertained them…

they are often sharing what they have accomplished with their walking around and about…

such fun…
