just spent a lovely hour prepping for tomorrow’s staff holiday potluck…

cheated a bit and picked up a cooked chicken which I sliced up… put aside the bones for soup which I’ll make tomorrow night… 

then I made my famous spinach dip… well maybe only famous in my circles, lol…

doesn’t take too long to make, but it sure is tasty…

finished with getting peapods, celery and carrots ready to go along with the dip and two types of bread…

looking forward to all the other delicious components of the lunch…

busy day… tidied up from last night’s dinner and started on some healthy turkey soup and dumplings for tonight’s potluck party…

  
had a little time with my girl before they headed out for breakfast with another friend…

  

first time I watched Shadow leave without me…

the party was a great success and lovely to visit with these young people whom we have known for basically their entire lives…

  
the house was full of people, many in the kitchen, having lots of fun…

  
some of the girls visiting… the dumplings and soup were a big hit… and tasty…

  
some story time…

early today got a lovely shot of the pergola along the garage and the lovely sculpture the snow and wind have produced…

 
very full day…

this morning at work I had to borrow some safety pins to make sure my pants didn’t fall down… they fit fine when I bought them… apparently I am losing a bit of weight, lol…

had some visitors this evening and we wandered around the house and checked out some of the items I am trying to divest… happily they walked away with a shoe rack and are thinking of at least a couple of other things…

then I spent some time removing the meat from the bones of a chicken, thinking all through the process of my colleagues who will be enjoying this chicken tomorrow at our potluck…

only last night I was talking with a group of women about taking the time when preparing food to think of those who will be enjoying it… I always find that it makes the task much more enjoyable for me and I think people can sense the effort I have put into whatever it is I am making…

life is full, and good…
