we’ve had a turntable on the table on the deck for at least twenty years…

the rolling piece finally disintegrated over the winter… my grandson found a different replacement part for it and it looks and works perfectly…

I also had him pick up an old Bundt pan… with help from the neighbour we cut out a slightly bigger hole in the centre and a young friend painted it for me…

while Hilda the Gardener was here the other day, she planted it and then I put it on the table…

it looks great and I can’t wait to see it filled out…

what a wonderful afternoon yesterday… although it was hot, my garden designer came and spent a few hours rearranging pots and plants and other goodies…

we moved, and moved items again, until the garden looked just so…

a few jobs left for my grandson when he comes next… lifting a few heavy things and digging in a few lights…

what fun to have a fresh set of eyes… and someone who is perfectly fine if I don’t care for the placement of items…

I think the garden is happy too…

last year I almost missed this little iris… so I was watching for it this year…

it sits right up next to a flower pot which I hope is going to have a dahlia growing in it…although currently there is no sign of said dahlia;-(…

but the iris is beautiful…

happy I took a walk around the garden before the thunderstorm…

this is a self-seeded columbine… they have wandered around the shade garden over the years… so far this year I’ve found two…

we really got a good downpour… I watched it pour over the water barrel as it was coming down so hard and fast…

not sure how the flowers faired afterwards, lol…

I’ve been checking around for purple butterfly bush with no success… last year I was able to get some from a local nursery, but they haven’t been able to acquire any this season…

eventually I found some online at Home Depot, so I ordered them… wasn’t sure what I would get, but was hopeful…

Friday, two boxes were delivered and the plants looked good…

I decided to keep them in the house until later in the day, when I put them in a shady spot to get used to being outside…

very happy with the purchase… hoping they enjoy their new homes in the garden…

I have been spending as much time as possible in the garden during these lovely days, enjoying every moment…

today, I put an umbrella on the hibiscus, which is getting a sunburn, even though I hardened it off… I came across the umbrella yesterday in the shed and it worked perfectly…

I switched two planters on the deck so that I can see the morning glories more easily… one of the chairs has been in front of them, so it hasn’t been as easy to see them… this will be much better…

finally I cleaned the pump again… I am getting good at it, lol… it makes a huge difference to the water flow…

I also followed the shade around the space as it was very hot in the sun…

I am so blessed to have the time and space to be able to enjoy the garden each and every day…

yesterday, the remainder of the plants were put into pots, including some new plants;-)…

there are baskets everywhere and the various pots are filled with lovely combinations…

today I spotted a few visitors in the neighbourhood…

all day my baby bunny friend has been popping up in the garden… I think we are becoming friends, lol…

now it sits closer to me and for longer periods;-)…

later in the day, as I was getting my steps in, I saw a mallard pair sitting under the pine tree next door… not sure I’ve ever seen ducks this close to the house…

yesterday I received two sets of stickers made from my photos, that had been ordered a while ago…

after cleaning off one that came on the computer, thanks to rubbing alcohol and an old facecloth, I added one of each ;-)…

Hilda the Gardener came by today and filled the front planters, a couple of hanging planters on the side of the house, a bed next to the garage, and moved ferns from one area to another…

everything looks great…

there is a threat of frost (for the next three nights), so I have just come in from putting sheets over all of the areas, lol…

excited to see how wonderful it is all going to look;-)…

she also brought me some lilacs, because she knows I love them…
