yesterday I picked purple and green beans, a few peas and a bunch of dried peas (looks like I missed a whole feed of them, sigh)…

I also spotted some small cucumbers which are not quite ready but should be in a few days… mostly they are growing on the other side of the fence, lol…

once the veggies were picked, I topped and tailed them before cutting up…

I was so excited that I cooked them for my lunch… at least now I don’t get sad when the purple ones turn green when cooked, lol…

they were delicious;-)…

had some fun Tuesday morning in the garden…

happy to see the first hibiscus flower open… it didn’t seem to bloom as much as usual through winter…

and noticed begonias, tiny poppies and more bachelor buttons… the bachelor buttons have gone crazy, lol…

I’m hoping to capture some of their seeds and sprinkle them throughout the garden;-)…

and at last I saw some beans, purple ones, woohoo…

I even pulled weeds from the fancy morning glory planter…

they were planted late so I am hoping they will bloom before it gets too cold…

feels great as the garden is beginning to produce ;-)…

it is interesting how some days the flowers put on a show and other days they look ragged and very sad…

today the pansies next to the house were very happy…

just a few days ago I was thinking they were completely done…

only one morning glory was open, but it was lovely…

still waiting for the mandevilla and hibiscus to bloom;-)…

lots to look forward to…

made it to the Wolseley Farmers Market today…

on the walk from the car to the market, spotted this sweet bumblebee on some purple flowers;-)…

I was so happy to find little cucumbers and green beans… and we got some lamb chops and bacon…

as soon as we arrived home I prepared half of the beans and then cooked and ate them…

my housemate was happy for me to have them all, lol…

what a treat…

so happy to see that the morning glories are opening…

the butterfly bench hasn’t had any open lately but the planter by the backdoor has been blooming over the last few days… today there were three…

then, as I was driving out of the garage, I stopped the car, got out and took photos of the blooms by the large garage door…

the blooms don’t last long and if it rains they kind of disintegrate, so I wanted to be sure to get a photo of them;-)…

been giggling a bit…

I planted many morning glories and have been watching for the first blooms…

yesterday I spotted the first one… it was blooming under the bench of the butterfly chair, lol…

nearly impossible to see…

today I saw the second bloom, on the bench this time and with another bud preparing to open;-)…

hope more will open higher up, lol…

finally used my housemate’s electric sander to remove the majority of the peeling blue paint from what had been a fountain…

eventually it turned into a planter, but started peeling like crazy…

it has been sitting under the deck, where I could ignore it, for quite some time…

didn’t take too long once I got going to sand it down so it can be painted…

I do love purple, but the sun changes it to blue over time… still not quite sure what colour it is going to be… hmmm…

did a bit of planting on Wednesday, on one of the warm and sunny days, lol…

added pansies to a section of the bathtub area as well as two pots on the stairs… included a bit of alyssum in the pots… looking forward to the scent as I walk up and down the steps…

the tomato went into one of the planter boxes in the side garden… I tried to get the calla into a floating container, but it didn’t want to cooperate so I left it for a bit, lol…

I am so excited…

spent some time on Friday bringing out pots for various spots in the garden…

amongst the pots was one with a clematis that was moved into the shed in the fall…

and I think it has already started to grow;-)…

very pleased that it made it through the winter and looking forward to watching it develop and bloom again this summer… it has lovely light purple flowers;-)…

Thursday evening we went to do some grocery shopping… I found a couple of side tables for the garden and a new water bottle…

which, by the way, isn’t purple… sadly the old one, which was purple, is no longer usable…

the tables were easy to put together and look good… so far, one is happily ensconced beside the butterfly chair…

and just possibly, I found some plants for the garden;-)…

the season is beginning…
