what a lovely day… I’ve spent most of it in the garden…

I’ve been dealing with a miserable cold for the last three or four days… today it has finally started to improve so it has been quite enjoyable sitting outdoors…

there were a number of things on the calendar, but nothing got accomplished which is often the way it is… there is either nothing happening or a whole bunch of things all at once…

as I am beginning to come out of the fog of illness I am reminded of how truly blessed I am with good health…

here’s to the next few days of overcoming runny noses, coughs, and sore sides;-)…

today marks 46 years since we were married…

did the math and it has been 1,609 days since my beloved died which means we were married for 15,193 days…

spent my day recovering from our camping trip and remembering many of the special times during those 41 plus years…

was in the garden for the morning… we moved into this house three years after we were married and have spent many hours in the garden…

it has changed from a lawn to a playground, to a garden filled with ponds and decks… when I spend time in the garden it feels like he is close…


this morning Mr and Mrs Goldfinch stopped by and I caught a picture of him… she flew off before I took the shot… thought it was cool that they came as a couple on this day…

for the rest of the day it rained and was overcast so I took it very easy, did a few chores and thought about many of the special moments in our life together…

and so it began;-)…


memories, light the corners of my mind...

spent some time in the garden today…

weather was very nice… it was warm, but there was a lovely breeze which kept it cool…

cleaned out the planters around the deck and watered the remaining baskets…

then emptied and refilled the hot tub…

I think the Snow Birds flew out of the city, because there were three batches of jets that left in twos and threes, making a lot of racket… by the time I had my camera out the third batch were leaving and they weren’t visible… they were the red and white of the Snow Birds but I hadn’t heard that any events were on in the area…

while I was making my dinner, a great gaggle of geese flew over and again I didn’t have time to get the camera and take a picture…

i have been hearing the geese daily for the last while as they head out to the fields for their last feeds before heading south…

just realized that last year at this time I was on my last few days of sick leave, following my surgery, before getting back to work…

I spent the majority of the summer in the back yard recuperating… what a difference a year makes…
