had fun picking up cards, a bookmark, a tray, an ornament, a travel mug, and some matcha tea…
most of it for me, but maybe a few items for Christmas;-)…

had a delightful morning yesterday…
spent time talking with the plants as they were watered and turned… a few are struggling with the move indoors but most are happy…
then I spent a glorious hour on the deck, in the sunshine, reading my current novel…

yesterday I had lunch on the deck… in my winter coat and bare feet, lol… I must say, my fingers were cold by the time I was done, lol…
today, I was out without a coat, although I did have a blanket over my legs and slippers on…
I spent hours out there in the sunshine and didn’t come in until the chair was in the shade at which point it was too chilly to stay out…
reading, a lovely lunch, and warm fingers;-)…

to continue with the strength of the sun, I got this photo of one of the solar-powered lights…
it is one of four that I received from the Ottawa kids… I had put three away, but left this one out…
rather excited to see the lovely pattern of light on the deck;-)…
spring is really coming…

this morning I went out around ten and shovelled the sidewalk… it was overcast, chilly, and a bit windy…
it only takes about fifteen minutes to get the job done and then I took out my camera to get a few photos of the snow on the trees…
just before my friends arrived for our weekly gathering, the sun came out… yay…
and I got a very similar picture…
amazing what a difference a bit of sunshine makes…

Monday morning the sun was shining, woohoo…
I was so excited about it that I did some of my steps in the kitchen, as the sun shone onto me…
I was so happy about the beautiful light that I didn’t even take a photo, lol…
it looked a lot better in the sunshine…
over the last few months there have been so many overcast days, not our usual sunshine…
climate change is certainly creating havoc with our weather…

had a wonderful day on Saturday…
we had ordered bread and some goodies from Village Green Bakery online and went to pick the order up…
while we were in the store next to the bakery I came across a butterfly net which will work perfectly for catching fish in the pond…
next we went to Saffie’s in Albert Beach and found an adorable long dress – purple – with pockets… woohoo…
across the street at Gibson’s Glass & Art, I found a beautiful purple mug and a delightful stained glass dragonfly…
lovely treats and reminders of our excellent week at the cottage…

Sunday was glorious… I spent most of the day in the garden…
in the morning I read on the deck in the sunshine and then washed the chairs on the back deck… the birds had been sitting above them, lol…
once they were clean and dry, I put cushions on two of them and set up the umbrella over the one they particularly like to rest over…
I moved poles and filled feeders… had to use the sledge hammer to get one all the way in…
then spent time on the back deck trying to identify birds, and reading;-)…
Merlin told me there were a large variety of birds in the garden, but didn’t want to identify them when I took pictures… argh…
lots to do yet, but it was fun to move forward a bit;-)…

spent a good portion of the day on Sunday in the garden raking up leaves… there were a lot of them as well as dead cedar bits…
I know it is a bit early for the bugs, but I want to be able to sit on the back deck…
I left an old garbage can filled with some of what I’d picked up open so the little critters could still get out;-)…
what a difference this has made… it still needs another good going over, but I can now sit comfortably on the back deck and think about how it is going to look with flowers and the fish in the pond…
