woke up early this morning and enjoyed some lovely sky-watching…
saw the most interesting light pillar… not long ago many photographers in the province had noted multiple columns in the sky, so I was excited to have spotted it…
the moon was visible out my bedroom window… and then there was a lovely sunrise…
spectacular way to start the day…

have decided that it needs to be Spring…
bought this cute little crocus plant and am enjoying watching the blooms open…
the sun is shining out there and it feels like Spring… in the house, lol…
except that the temperature is minus 34…
picked up a few Spring-y tops on Friday…
maybe if we imagine it enough, it will come sooner;-)…

my, oh my… it has been crazy cold…
this morning while I was waiting for the car to warm up a bit, I took some pictures…
the cover of the hot tub is amazing… I haven’t been in it for a while, but it looks like it has turned into a cocoon to keep the heat in, lol…
it is so beautiful as everything is covered in ice…
I don’t usually sit in the car while it is running in the garage, but it was so cold that I felt Indi needed to warm up before we left… although the door was wide open it smelled, so I moved her onto the driveway for a few final minutes…
that’s when I got the pictures, lol…
last night when I left the office it was so cold that it felt like everything in the car was frozen, even though the battery had been plugged in all day…
rarely do we all plug in, but this morning I took this photo… clearly others felt it was cold as well…

snow fell all day long yesterday and it has finally accumulated a bit… we’ve seen very little snow up till now… this was how Indi looked when I got out to the parking lot…
it wasn’t too cold and the snow was still falling gently… I actually enjoyed brushing the car off… which was funny because a man walking by asked if I was having fun… and I said yes, I was… not sure I will feel the same in a month…
last night as I was walking by the hallway window I took this picture of the beautiful scene in the garden… tonight I got a few shots of the freshly shoveled yard…
snow is so wonderful to look at when you don’t have to go out, or shovel it, lol…

a few days ago when I was heading home from work I stopped and took some pictures of the piles of leaves in the parking lot…
as I walked through the backyard I took some shots of the leaves there too…
I haven’t been enjoying this Fall because it hasn’t been very Fall-like, sigh…
cold, snowy, overcast… what a drag…
but the leaves are incredible… even if they are all on the ground…

this morning it was hard to tell whether there were more leaves or snow blowing…
not really what is expected at this time of the year, sigh…
I had been laughing just before because when I looked outside the bird feeder was on the ground and the squirrel and birds were enjoying how easy it was to get the seeds…
maybe the raccoon had come by and taken it off the pole… which had been leaning way over again…

can I just say the weather has been silly for at least a week…
last Friday it was snowing as I went to an appointment in the morning… by the end of the day it was basically all gone…
on Wednesday it snowed like crazy and as I headed out to the car after work – in my sandals – I realized that I did not have a brush or scrapper to clean it off… happily I had a cloth in the trunk which helped clean off the snow from the windows…
when I got home I pulled out some brushes and cleared off the roof which was still covered with the wet snow… thank goodness it melted away overnight and the garage isn’t going to be filled with snow all winter…
today it has been raining/snowing all day so I haven’t left the house…
hoping tomorrow is better because I still don’t have a turkey, lol…

I’ve been thinking about September… it has been a good month for me… as a kid I always liked starting school… and as a parent I also enjoyed when the girls headed back to school….
I started with my current employment on September 30, 2009…
following an eight week time away with pancreatitis and gall bladder surgery, I returned to work on September 28, 2010…
after a second surgery and being away from work for ten weeks, I returned September 27, 2012…
hadn’t realized how close those dates were until Facebook reminded me of the above facts…
usually the weather is beautiful as the leaves slowly change colour… this year there’s been a lot more rain and temperatures have plummeted…
one of the things I miss is the fall drive that my beloved and I would often take to enjoy the colours…
happily for me the sun is peeking out of the clouds off and on today;-)…

looking forward to spending the evening with my BS buddies… we haven’t met too often over the summer…
ah, the summer… took this picture yesterday as I was coming home from the grocery store…
many branches on the trees are bare… and the street is covered with leaves… when I took the picture I was focusing on the leaves on the street… only discovered the bare branches when I was preparing the picture… yikes…
and the Virginia creeper is moving into its fall stage…
not only is it changing colour… something is enjoying it as a snack!
must continue to take the time to focus on special moments because time is whizzing by…

odd weather today… went from cloudy to sunny, to rainy, and back again a number of times… ended with sun shining through the clouds…
the poor morning glories took a beating early on… nearly every time it rained the drops were huge…
thinking of my dad today as I took hours to make fresh tomato sauce to go with some spaghetti for supper… I keep buying grape tomatoes to make caprese salad and then never use them all up… he would add all kinds of condiments to add flavour and it always ended up delicious… as I rummaged through the cupboard, I remembered watching him do the same thing, lol…
it turned out great and was a lovely treat as I don’t often have pasta… made some homemade coleslaw to go along with it and have a bit of both for lunch tomorrow;-)…
