as I was walking around the main floor getting steps in, I was contemplating the saying on the picture over the pass through…
it says live every moment, love beyond words, laugh every day…
such a great reminder of how I want to be…
I am always so pleased when I make sure I see what is happening in the moment…
today, I watched the downy woodpecker without trying to get a photo of it… as it moved from spot to spot on the suet feeder looking to get the best access to the snacks, I was able to enjoy the red patch on the back of its head… this photo is from yesterday…
he’s very cute and comes by regularly…

yesterday a lot of time was spent at the front window with the camera on the tripod…
first up was this cute downy woodpecker… often hard to get a photo as they move fairly quickly, but caught this shot…
the gray squirrels have been busy at the base of the feeder… their tails are so pretty…
and finally, the red squirrels were around… they are very cute but not too friendly with the rest of the critters…
such fun to watch all of these visitors;-)…

so far we’ve seen a fawn, frogs, geese and a pileated woodpecker… and we’ve only been here since noon;-)…
we’ve hiked around the campground and taken a few photos from the bridge that is usually in my pictures…
we’ve fished, or more precisely, practised casting, lol…
and are currently sitting around a campfire waiting for it to die down so we can cook hotdogs for our supper…
why is it that hotdogs taste so delicious when cooked over a fire…
pretty fine day considering we were led to believe it was going to rain all day…

couldn’t get any pictures of the chickadees and nuthatch on Tuesday, but got a few good shots on Wednesday just after the kids arrived… apparently they brought some good luck…
nuthatch and a chickadee at the feeder…
not only did we get the nuthatch and chickadees, but we also caught a woodpecker at the feeder…
woodpecker…
that was excellent… I’d seen the nuthatch, but the woodpecker was a great surprise…
today, I pulled a chair up to the window and sat there with my phone for quite a while as I had seen the birds flitting to and fro, but not a one would come by so I could get something on my phone, lol…
we’ve had a lazy, relaxing day… kids slept in and we walked over to The “A” for the breakfast special… walked from there to the grocery store, and home with the fixings for our dinner…
feeding has been an important part of the day, lol… finished making turkey soup, which we had for our lunch… sat and visited for the rest of the afternoon…
topped off the day with steak and lobster and macadamia clusters which I had picked up at least a couple of months ago, so that I would have then when the kids arrived…
none for me, but I did have one delicious little shortbread cookie…
enjoying the moments with my kids…
