this morning I put on those big girl pants and headed out to Birchwood Toyota… in the rain… to pick up my tires…

when I took Shadow to trade her for Indi, she still had her winter tires on… got a call about a week ago saying they were ready for pick up…

had a bit of a giggle when I pulled up to one of the three service bay doors… hadn’t realized that it said Lexus on it while the other two said Toyota… a service guy had me move, lol…

once in the bay a kind man went and found my tires, wrapped them up and put them into the car for me…

once home I was able to get them out of the car and piled them up in the corner… I couldn’t lift them to their spot in the shelf, but will have my son-in-law or grandson do it next time they are here… was rather proud that I had managed to get them moved…

and only broke one nail…

the sky was absolutely amazing this morning…

I took these pictures between 6:07 and 7:15 am…

the sunrise was spectacular… on the drive downtown the sunlight was streaming through the clouds… not a single red light all the way to the office… and by the time I got there the clouds had filled the sky…

just before I left the office for the weekend, I got a photo of my amethysts… today we heard a designer talk about the importance of feeling good in your workspace and as I get used to my office I do enjoy all of the bits and pieces that make it mine and make me feel happy…

once I arrived home I took a picture of a piece of the Rice Krispie cake that my sweet colleague brought me this afternoon…

was so busy getting ready to leave the house early this morning that I forgot to take something out for dinner, but made a veggie omelette… it was tasty…

and now for a four day weekend;-)…

how often do you see things that start with the letter “q”…

started my day at the QNET conference where we heard great information on change from Janet Lapp…

from there I raced over to the RBC Convention Centre to staff a trade show booth at Vision Quest…

at one point, the morning keynote speaker used our booth to sign autographs and take pictures with participants…

I’m still thinking about the fact that two events took place on the same day that started with the letter “q“…

took some nice shots over the last few days… the cloud formation was very pretty last night… and this morning I took a few photos of the flowers that we picked up yesterday… one is quite beautiful, called starry sky… it is a petunia and I’m not fond of them but it was too beautiful not to bring home…

once I got home tonight I walked over to the Yafa Cafe to meet my buddies for a birthday dinner… we tried a number of items and enjoyed them all…

had a lovely Mother’s Day…

was up early, as usual, lol, and went out to have a hot tub… spent a little while sorting out how to get a shot of me in the tub… it has been nine years since I stepped into this hot tub for the first time, on Mother’s Day in 2009… what fun to figure out how to get the shot…

met up with my daughter and family for breakfast out… usually we would have supper at home, but the younger boys have soccer practice at 6… there was a long line as we waited but the salmon benedict I ordered was delicious… it has a spinach sauce and is served on a scone, yum…

at the end of the meal she and I received a chocolate treat… when I ate it a little while ago it reminded me of a fiddle diddle cookie my friend Lisa makes… delicious…

had a text and call from my older daughter while I was waiting to be picked up after breakfast…

then my son-in-law took us moms to a number of plant stores where we wandered around and picked up a few goodies…

I was particularly happy to find a purple datura and a pretty dahlia… my plan is to leave the plants on the dining room table for a few weeks rather than put them out and bring them in, depending on the weather…

besides the plants, I got a pretty outdoor cushion, a blue-y purple pot, and purple morning glory seeds…

had planned to make roast chicken with stuffing for my dinner, but after all that running around, decided that ordering in would be a nice treat, lol…

and it was;-)…

made the loveliest lunch today…

combined a smoked goldeye with cream cheese for a very tasty spread for the two types of crackers I had in the pantry…

then I started with shredded cucumber, green onion, vinegar and added radishes and cilantro… not only was it delicious when combined, but it also made it prettier with that bit of red added…

out in the garden I set up the chairs and cushions and ate my lunch and read my book…

early this morning I caught sight of a couple of robins in the front yard… I’ve heard them recently but these was the first ones I’ve seen… a sure sign of spring;-)…

had another visit with the physiotherapist… my knee is doing very well although the range of motion is not where he would like it to be… he poked and prodded and gave me different exercises to do for the next few weeks…

as I drove up the driveway I spotted the dandelion flowers and chive blooms…

according to the David Suzuki Foundation we should leave the dandelions to help the bee population… well, maybe that’s what I will do…

I think back to the number of times my girls brought me home bouquets;-)…

tonight I enjoyed some hummingbird drinking chocolate… it was a Christmas gift from my daughter…

I used Almond Milk… made with 70% cacao, it was delicious…

before making it, I reviewed what I had eaten during the day and realized there was room for a bit of sugar;-)…

last week I saw the doctor and heard that my A1C has been creeping up for the last six months… it is at 6.3 but needs to stop rising…

I had loosened my very strict watch over my eating habits to make life a bit more relaxed… I don’t think that was bad, but will tighten up my food intake a bit to see if that can make an improvement to the next test…

so, I am trying to have bread only once a week and dark chocolate a few times a week… on the whole, the rest of my food choices are pretty good… we will see how this goes…

life sure is a journey, lol…

yesterday I wandered around the house taking pictures of the flowers that I found…

there were some in the living room…

some on the dining room table…

and finally, some in the bedroom;-)…

that is really what I like to see…

as mentioned many times previously, flowers make me happy;-)…

a colleague advised she had to pick up this magnet for me recently, lol… she also took this shot…

and a close-up of one of the bouquets, that just happened to be purple…
