backyard shenanigans…
came across my bunny friend in the garden…
I feel a bit like she’s a pet;-)…
then much later I heard a loud noise but couldn’t see where it came from…
just a while ago, I looked out the window and spotted this icicle that had fallen onto the hot tub…
happy I wasn’t in the hot tub at that moment, lol…

felt like I was wearing those big girl pants all day long…
this morning I went out into the backyard and shovelled the windrow outside the gate so that I could get the garbage and recycling bins into the back lane…
it has been weeks since I’ve taken it out…
put two bags beside it… not sure if they will take those or not…
I decided on pickerel for my supper… instead of the deep fried French fries that my beloved would make, and which were amazing, I baked them in the oven… a recipe from my grandmother… fish and chips was one of the regular suppers that he would make, particularly on swimming nights… makes me think that I need to get back to aquasize…

this morning, rather than spend fifteen minutes on the treadmill, I had a lovely time taking photos of the moon…
although I used my tripod, next time I will use my headphones to take the photos so that the camera doesn’t jiggle…
still learning what this camera can do;-)…

for the last two days there have been big trucks sitting outside of my office window… the noise has been rather stressful and we’ve also been overpowered on occasion by exhaust fumes…
so today when I arrived home, checked the mailbox and discovered a container filled with my favourite homemade shortbread cookies I was so pleased…
I ate three before even making it to the kitchen, lol…
friends are gifts;-)…

sunshine and clouds…
Saturday the sun was shining down on the planters in the front yard and there were diamonds glittering… lovely dome of snow, which reminded me of a giant ice cream cone…
a bit later I caught this sundog… not very big but always such fun to spot… as I was driving downtown this morning there was a huge one, but I couldn’t stop to take a photo…
Sunday the clouds were very fluffy as I took this picture…

so happy with the shovelling done by my grandson yesterday…
he cleaned out the windrow at the end of the sidewalk which my shoveler hasn’t been able to clear… pleased as my friends have had to use the driveway rather than the sidewalk for weeks;-)… the driveway is sloped so the sidewalk is a safer walk…
he also cleaned off the back deck… there was a lot of snow on it… took ages for him to get this done…
this morning I had a lovely hot tub… it wasn’t too cold out and I enjoyed the quiet… I have been sitting at the opposite end as there are many icicles hanging from the roof and I don’t want any to fall and land on my head, lol…

recently, in amongst the times I was feeling sorry for myself, I’ve also been thinking of how blessed I am…
looked out the window into the backyard and could see the boot prints of my snow shoveler… how blessed am I to know that someone will come after it snows and clean my sidewalks and driveway…
had to take the car in because the plug for the block heater had been ripped off… lesson is, be careful who you lend your car to, lol…
anyway, I can afford to get it fixed properly…
good reminder for when I am feeling down;-)…

spent some time with my son-in-law yesterday…
one of the things we did was go to RONA and pick up a new cover and clamp for the dryer vent…
we’ve figured out a different way to add water to the hot tub, so that the vent doesn’t have to be removed for the hose to go through it…
as soon as we got home, he popped it into place and hooked up the inside vent…
while he was doing that, the bunny was sitting under a tree on the other side of the yard, watching;-)…
today, when I returned home from brunch out, she was sitting in the same spot… I feel a bit sorry for her…
but not enough to let her back into the house, lol…

last night I made it out to the hot tub for the first time since my daughter left…
one side of the cover wouldn’t open all the way but that was okay…
while I was sitting there I could hear hooting…
this was the second time I’ve heard an owl in the last week… it flew away and all I saw was a large wingspan…
the other time was early morning and I barely saw it, but it looked a bit like a pheasant with two necks…
today I was googling to see what owls are common around here and found this…
what I thought were two necks is likely the ears…
gonna be watching for it now…

what a difficult day… i never know when one of these days will come along…
I’m a bit worn out from recent events so that may have exacerbated the feelings…
anyway, I blubbered throughout the morning at the office… my colleagues were all so kind…
I left after lunch and went to The Stoneware Gallery and found the cutest heart shaped bowls…
picked up bannock and rye bread from La Belle Baguette, which made me happy because they’ve been out of the bannock every time I’d stopped by previously…
filled up the car and got home in time to have a lovely afternoon nap…
looking forward to my first Friday off in many weeks…
