I’ve been trying to note how long I am out in the hot tub each night, so I take a screenshot of the time as I leave the house and another once I come in…
tonight I made it out to the hot tub in time to watch the Space Station fly over… I haven’t seen it for quite a while…
this time, as it came over the house it was a bright light, but about halfway across the open space above me it started to dim and then it vanished…
it has done this before and I wonder if it is rotating a bit and then doesn’t have the sun shining on it…
it always makes me happy to see it, especially on such a beautiful evening…
had my youngest grandson over for dinner last night…
had to think for a while to decide on what to make as the oven is still not working, lol…
decided on spaghetti with meatballs and sauce… while I was making the meatballs, I was remembering doing that with my dad… he made great ones and they were very small… and they never fell apart, lol…
mine came out okay, but a few of them did seem to disintegrate… I used the broiler, which is still working, to warm up the garlic bread…
my grandson is on a moneymaking kick as there is a big school trip planned for next year, so he did some shovelling for me in the garden… the plan was to move the snow around that was in the mountain at the edge of the deck… he did a good job;-)…
was so tickled on Thursday morning… I spent just under an hour sitting on the deck reading in the sunlight…
the temperature was 3°C, and the weather channel suggested it felt like -2, although the deck is often warmer…
it was a bit of a process as I had to bring out a cushion for the chair and a small table for my tea, lol… I wore my winter jacket and had my Assiniboine Park Conservancy blanket over my legs, although I was in my slippers and was very comfortable…
what a treat to feel that warmth on my face…
and, when I went upstairs to lay down, the sun was shining along the bottom of the bed, so I napped sideways, with scrunched up legs;-)…
went with a friend to see Flora of the Philippines…
we couldn’t figure out the new markers on many of the plants in the Tropical Biome, but eventually realized they represented the flag of the Philippines and demonstrated how many of the plants in the biomes originated there…
besides seeing where so many plants came from, there were hundreds of orchids… heaven for me…
what a treat…
after our wander through the biomes, we had lunch at Gather…
