had a fun time outside a few days ago when snowflakes were gently falling from the sky;-)…
caught a few on my parka…
and spent time finding snowflakes along the stair rail…
they really are works of art;-)…

recently I purchased a few pairs of wide leg pants…
of course they had to go to be shortened…
it only took a few minutes for them to be pinned…
one of the pairs is cargo pants… I am excited to have them for volunteering… it will be great to have a few more pockets to pop things into, lol…
just got them back and they look great…
excited to wear them at my next volunteer shift at The Leaf;-)…

as I sit here quietly in the living room I am thinking of two big events that took place in the last few days…
the first was a congratulatory note from WordPress… on December 1st, 2012 I began writing about my journey into widowhood… and have continued that since then, moving into commenting on my life…
the second was today, which would have been my beloved’s 77th birthday… this year we had burgers here, one of his favourite foods, while the kids in Ottawa had an apple galette… he loved apple pie… we had a video visit between the burgers and galette, lol…
my grandson is going to use his Christmas stocking for the first time…
I sure do miss him🤗…

Monday morning I ran around… brought up the snow people and the big sleigh from the basement…
a glittery cloth, a stool, and the setting was ready…
took awhile, and a few bits of rearranging, but eventually they were ready to go…
from the window, to the table under the tree, to those in the sleigh on the floor, the snow people took over the front window area…

ran around Saturday morning and basically finished my Christmas shopping…
a beautiful outdoor tree tried to seduce me at Canadian Tire, but I walked away, lol…
we also had a lot of fun at BulkBarn finding things for a couple of Advent calendars…
the last few books were picked up at Chapters for my littlest friends and we found the last sheep door draft stopper…
so, I guess now I have to wrap things, lol…

waited till late in the day to fill the stairs with trees and Advent boxes…
should have started earlier because it took a while to get into the spirit, although I did enjoy the Christmas music I put on…
all of the lights worked right off the bat and eventually each box found a home…
the last few ended up by the front door…
the remainder of the forest found its way into the bathroom, the kitchen and onto the dining room table…
starting to feel like the season;-)…

finally got around to changing the living room table…
it has been the same since springtime, yikes…
took a little while to put away the shells, crystals, stones and books, as well as the sarongs that had been on the bottom of each of the four areas…
next, I found the Christmas box that had all the smaller purple, silver, white, and clear ornaments…
filled three squares and then brought down three angels that have special meaning for me to complete the last spot…
I’m pleased with the result although I haven’t quite decided what goes on the top, lol…

the book stair library has been moved into the den in anticipation of trees and advent boxes…
I will just have to remember where they are when I finish my current book, lol…
right now the stairs look a bit naked…

spent time with the fish and their pumps…
each one was cleaned and the water came streaming over beautifully…
I’ve figured out an easier way to clean them now, so the process is much quicker most of the time… I’ll still need to do the longer process once in a while…
but for now I am happy with this new system…
