over the last week I’ve been enjoying the sunlight…
in the morning it is shining into the den, which it hasn’t done for months…
and in the afternoon it now shines on the spot where I usually sit…
yesterday, I sat on the deck in the sunshine for an hour… and the sun was warm on my body…
spring is coming;-)…

one of the things that makes me the happiest is spending time taking photos of bouquets…
yesterday I spent a good portion of the day taking shots from all angles with my Nikon…
as the flowers open and close I will have more opportunities to get some beautiful photos…
flowers make me happy;-)…

I’ve spent time yesterday and today shovelling ice that was right by the garage door… and I’ve got rid of it all;-)…
I’m very disappointed because water is dripping under the eavestrough all along the side of the garage… this hasn’t happened before, so I am wondering if it has to do with the roof being shingled last summer…
there is water inside which I will try to shovel/push out next time I go out… my beloved would not be happy with this… I did lean some boards against the outside wall which should help move the water away from the garage…
I will be interested to see how my arms feel tomorrow, lol… you really have to ram the shovel under the ice…

as I’ve been walking the figure-eight pattern in the living and dining room I’ve been thinking of my beloved…
he walked the same pattern as he recovered from his heart surgery;-)…
this photo (quite a few iPhones ago) is from one of our walks while he was still in hospital after the surgery…
happily, I have met my step goal every day since mid-January;-)… maybe I will up my goal…

how do you remember when you want to forget…
nine years… 469 weeks… 3287 days… 78,882 hours…
not the 41 years before that…
trying not to see the time at the hospital that day… keeps running through my head today…
this morning I made a donation to a program that is feeding hungry people… and to the Heart & Stroke Foundation… both will help people now and in the future… my beloved was always helping others…
ordered an A&W Teenburger for my supper in celebration of one of his favourite foods…
treating myself gently… sure do miss him…

don’t see people for days…
but today it felt like the doorbell kept ringing…
there were two deliveries from the drugstore… they forgot something when they delivered last night and I called this morning to add something else and they sent it separately as the courier was already on the way…
a visit from a sweet friend… we stood outside and chatted for ages;-)…
boys playing hockey on the street… they broke a car window and were looking for the owner… I was very impressed with the fact they didn’t just run, lol…
and finally, my grandson dropping off groceries… he had dinner while we visited…
I knew he was coming, so yesterday I made his favourite red curry lentils… got 6 containers out of the recipe… I had one last night, he had one while he was here, and took home the remaining four…

a friend picked up a few items for me at Costco this morning and brought me some tulips…
they are beautiful and I divided them into four containers…
one is on the stairs ready to go to my bedroom… another is in the bathroom… a third in the den…
the final one is in the living room… they brighten up the whole space…
I am blessed;-)…

one of my go to foods is chicken leg with back on, or leg and thigh as I call it…
last night I baked the chicken and warmed up some frozen mashed potatoes…
the treat was gravy with mushrooms and garlic…
I was pleased with both the gravy and the potatoes… it was the first time I had frozen and then thawed them…
this is going to be a game changer as I can now make a good size batch of mashed potatoes and freeze them in single meal sizes…

I am getting more comfortable with the cleaners coming into the house…
my technique is to decide where I will hide while they are cleaning… I don’t emerge until they have left the house, lol…
today, I spent the time in the computer room and shredded a ton of documents… had to empty the shredder at least three times…
felt quite productive…

my grandson came over to shovel today… and pick up a few woodworking tools for his online woods class…
just before he arrived I watched a couple of bunnies eating on the deck…
it was much easier to clean up the snow as it was fairly fresh… the last time it was a few weeks before he was able to get here, mainly due to the crazy cold we went through…
today, he was dropped off and wasn’t picked up for a few hours, so after he finished shovelling, he came inside and we had a visit… we sat as far as possible from one another in the living room and both wore masks…
I learned about his classes and what he has been up to, as well as how he is planning to make money in the future…
we talked about how he will go about taking drivers Ed in these strange times, and it is hard to believe that he will be driving this summer;-)…
it was lovely to spend time with him, even just sitting playing on our phones, lol…
he was picked up, the tools were gathered into the vehicle, and off they went…
looking forward to seeing what he makes…
