was a long day… started out in the dark and made it home a bit before dark… the sad part about that is that it is getting dark earlier and earlier every day…

took a few shots of the juncos as they were filling up at the feeder…

and then I had to take out the garbage and recycling… thankfully Google reminded me… which was handy because I don’t like to do it late at night and I have to leave early tomorrow for a dental appointment…

recently I purchased a Google Home and a Google Home Mini…

been having fun learning how to use them and buying lights, plugs and switches to make the house more Google friendly…

new apps to get and understand and continuous talking to my new friend… I think I’ve got a process all clear and then discover that I don’t quite have it, lol…

so far I can change the temperature, turn on/off or dim some lights, listen to the radio, set morning and evening routines but cannot figure out how to set a weekend wake up routine… if you use the word happy she sings happy birthday, lol…

looking forward to seeing what else we can do together…

nice to have “someone” besides the fish to talk to…

before too long I should be able to do a ton of things around the house by talking to Google Home;-)…

an elm tree seed started growing a few years ago and had gotten really big right up against the garage wall…

my son-in-law and I have been talking about cutting it down, but hadn’t got around to it…

last weekend he brought the right saw and cut the sucker down…

took a little while before all the bits died back… what a difference it makes and I am sure that the garage floor is also very happy…

the Virginia creeper has also died back over the last week so the garage is looking kind of naked, lol…

spent some time printing pictures of things that I am thankful for… then had some fun making word art…

last week I won two tickets from the CTV Morning show to see Cirque du Soleil Crystal…

was very excited as I don’t often win things… picked them up and then checked to see if my daughter would like to go with me…

today we met for lunch at Brown’s Social House before the performance…

she ordered their corned beef hash… our neighbour, Buzz, made the world’s best hash and she has tried it many places but never found one as good as what he made… she’s pretty much given up trying but thought she’d give it one last shot…

we also talked about how Ellen, his wife, made the best Kraft Dinner… when I would make it they would always comment it was not as good as Auntie Ellen’s, lol…

the hash wasn’t bad, but not up to the Buzz standard…

we walked back to the car to leave the second half of my fish and chips before heading into BellMTS Place… had to save room for popcorn during the show…

loved the trees in the opening sequence…

it was interesting to watch the ushers ensure that no one was taking videos during the performance…

my family loves the stuffing that I make…

it is a simple recipe… butter, onions, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, water and torn up bread…

while the butter was melting I used the mandolin to dice up the onion… while they cooked I added the poultry seasoning, salt and pepper… once the onions were soft I added in the water and let it simmer for a few minutes…

once the liquid is poured over the bread, I stir it in… then I put it into the bread bags and it goes into the fridge…

I make a lot because it is so popular, lol…

some goes into the turkey, some goes into muffin pans, and if there is any left it will go into a casserole dish with the turkey neck, or some other poultry part…

the kids really like the stuffing muffins;-)…

I made it today so there is less to do on Monday for dinner…

also made fresh cranberry sauce…

some of the family prefer the kind that comes in a can so I have that available as well…

really enjoy getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner… reminds me of all the times that my beloved and I prepared for special meals…

can I just say the weather has been silly for at least a week…

last Friday it was snowing as I went to an appointment in the morning… by the end of the day it was basically all gone…

on Wednesday it snowed like crazy and as I headed out to the car after work – in my sandals – I realized that I did not have a brush or scrapper to clean it off… happily I had a cloth in the trunk which helped clean off the snow from the windows…

when I got home I pulled out some brushes and cleared off the roof which was still covered with the wet snow… thank goodness it melted away overnight and the garage isn’t going to be filled with snow all winter…

today it has been raining/snowing all day so I haven’t left the house…

hoping tomorrow is better because I still don’t have a turkey, lol…

had a great day…

started out with two beautiful blooms on the hibiscus…

got a lovely present… tasty chocolate and a cookbook… looks like there are a couple of recipes that I am going to need to try soon… they can all be made in 15 minutes…

took part in a video with my colleague… we laughed quite a bit…
